I can’t believe that this is already my third Album Cover Makeup look! This has been such a fun project for me and I really appreciate you supporting it. This third look is inspired by the one and only Red Hot Chili Peppers Californication album.

Where do I even begin with this album? I stole this CD from my dad and listened to it on the entire ride to and from a 6th grade field trip. [Read more…]

Dry Shampoo Review: Battle of the Brands

Which dry shampoo will come on top? It is time for YOU to decide! This dry shampoo review battle of the brands has been HIGHLY anticipated and I am so excited to finally have it for all of you! I tested 10 different dry shampoos and rated them on their smell, price, residue they left behind, and how well they worked at making my hair feel clean.

Dry Shampoo Review Battle

I go about 15 days between washing my hair. I have done this for years and honestly didn’t think much of it until I had mentioned it to a few friends. They were blown away that I could go that long. My hair is just so used to it at this point, I am sure I could go much longer if I wanted to. 15 days seems to be my sweet spot for my hair though! I obviously wouldn’t be able to achieve this without dry shampoo, so I have quite a lot of experience with different dry shampoo brands I have used over the years. I wanted to bring back a lot of them that I have tried in the past and a few that I hadn’t ever tried before. I put 10 dry shampoos to the test, just for you guys!

It’s that time again! Time for another Album Cover Makeup look! If you missed the first month with Twenty One Pilots Trench, head on over to see it! I am beyond excited to announce the next album cover makeup look is none other than NSYNC No Strings Attached!

NSYNC No Strings Attached Inspired Puppet Makeup

No Strings Attached was one of the very first albums that I ever bought. It helped shape my love of music at the ripe age of 11. I was a die hard NSYNC fan, but wasn’t ever able to see them perform live. So instead of living my middle school dreams of seeing NSYNC perform live, I lived my second best dream of becoming a puppet just like the boys of NSYNC. [Read more…]

How to Use a Curling Wand

Curling wands have become a household hair styling staple over the past few years. I have had mine for about 7 years now and I don’t know what I would do without it! One question that I am asked often is how to use a curling wand. I totally understand how a curling wand would seem pretty intimidating but they don’t need to be at all!

How to use a curling wand

One of the best things about a curling wand is the ability to create different curls with it that can create entirely different styles! I will be sharing how to create different curls in a later post because I wanted to teach you first just the basics of using a curling wand. I am sharing just how to make a basic barrel curl. Music has always played a big part in how I am inspired. I can’t sing and I can’t play instruments, so I have to share that inspiration in a way that doesn’t involve music. That’s why I am so excited about my new Album Cover Makeup series! Every month, I will have a new music album that has inspired me in some way or has somehow shaped who I am. I can’t even put to words how excited I am for this series! It is my passion project for the year. I know that it isn’t something that most of you are as passionate about as I am, but I hope that you can get excited to see what albums are featured and what crazy things I come up with every month! How to Cut Your Own Split Ends

When I was in a salon full time, my clients would ask me how they could extend the wear of their haircut. I would give them shampoo, conditioner, and hair product recommendations, but the trick that they seemed to be most excited about was when I would teach them how to cut your own split ends.

Cutting your own split ends isn’t as scary as it sounds. You aren’t changing your haircut in any way and you aren’t even taking length off of your hair. You are simply cutting the split ends off of your hair, in order to keep your hair healthy and let you go a few extra weeks between haircuts. Let’s face it, most people drag the weeks between haircuts anyway, so why not have the tools you need to keep your hair healthy between them rather than getting to the cosmetologist with hair that is totally destroyed from split ends.

How to Cut Your Own Split Ends

By cutting your own split ends, you can go a little longer in between haircuts or just make sure that your hair is in tip top shape all of the time. Cutting my own split ends is really my biggest secret to having healthy, beautiful hair! And guess what? It isn’t hard to do at all! In fact, it is easy enough that any of you can do it! All you need is a comb and a pair of scissors. [Read more…]
