Katy Perry Teenage Dream Makeup: Album Cover Makeup

Katy Perry Teenage Dream Makeup: Album Cover Makeup

It seems like every month becomes my favorite Album Cover Makeup look! I am happy to say that this month is no different! When I chose Katy Perry Teenage Dream as my next album cover makeup venture, I was excited to do something fun, bright, and a little crazy!

Katy Perry Teenage Dream Album Cover Makeup

Katy Perry Teenage Dream is PACKED with hits. This album has 7 Grammy’s for both the album and the songs on it. Basically if you think of any of Katy Perry’s biggest hits, it is probably on this album. It’s pretty incredible! Katy Perry took on the theme of bright, playful, flirty, and fun and brought it to the next level with this album and it’s tour. I knew I needed to do the same with my album cover look!

The funniest struggle is the fact that she’s wearing nothing but cotton candy clouds on the album cover, so I had to get a little creative!

The faux fur coat did the trick! To see exactly how I did the makeup for this look, you can watch my video! You’re going to want to watch my sweet dance moves at the end.

This look actually convinced me that I need to wear bright colored eyeshadow more often. I thought I would look like a crazy person with this pink eyeshadow on when I was done filming, but I got so many complements on it! It looked amazing all day long and I actually really loved how it looked. So I may need to start bringing in some more fun colors into my regular routine.

Creative Makeup

I think the thing that I learn time and time again with these Album Cover Makeup looks is that we just take makeup way too seriously. Makeup is made to enhance our features and to make us feel beautiful, but it is also a way to be creative! When you feel like you are in a makeup rut, try something new! It might be wild and you might feel weird for a day but guess what? It washes off! You get a clean slate the next day! Don’t be afraid to push yourself out of your comfort zone.

Each month, I have pushed myself to try new things and every month I push to get myself out of my comfort zone. There is ALWAYS a time when I feel like I am in over my head or feel like the look isn’t going to come together. Sometimes I have to make adjustments, but that is just part of life! I learn new skills each month to make me a better at my craft!

Candy cane lipstick

Maybe you aren’t going to find yourself in a place where you need to try and figure out a way to make your lips have candy cane stripes, but I can guarantee that you are going to find yourself in a place where you need to push yourself to do something uncomfortable in order for you to better perfect your craft. When you get to that point, just remember that by pushing yourself, you can only grow!

Who knew that this makeup tutorial was going to get so deep?!
