Fighting Sickness

I’m sharing #Ricola in my life as part of a sponsored series for Socialstars™

I’m not sure if it is because of the junk food I ate over the holidays, the pregnancy, or the weather, but I have been fighting a lot of sicknesses lately. Thankfully I haven’t had many places I needed to be, since I am just waiting around for this baby to come. The hard part has been knowing that I need to be getting my sleep before I have a newborn, but my body not allowing me to get the sleep I need because I have been so sick!

Avoiding Illness this Cold Season

I’m sharing #Ricola  in my life as part of a sponsored series for Socialstars™

I had a really great Thanksgiving with my family. We spent the week at my parents’ house and my brother soon joined us with his family. It was so great to get to spend time with all of them, but as the week progressed we noticed a trend happening. We were all starting to sound the same. Our voices were starting to sound sick! Sharing the same house for the week meant that we were sharing the same germs too.

I tried to wash my hands constantly and get enough sleep, but I just couldn’t get on top of the illness. My body’s immune system is lower than it usually is because my body is working extra hard with my pregnancy. It didn’t take much to get me sick and once I started getting sick, it continued to get worse. By the time we got home from our Thanksgiving with family, I was feeling like I had about the worst cold I have ever had!

There have been so many people around me who have already been hit with the dreaded flu. I swear flu season comes earlier and earlier each year! This year, I am paying extra attention to my health because I am 29 weeks pregnant and the last thing I want is to have the flu!

Introducing more Vitamin C into my diet

I’m sharing #Ricola in my life as part of a sponsored series for Socialstars™

Last time I went to my doctor, he told me that pregnant women have the tendency of getting sick during the fall and winter months. He suggested drinking a lot of water and making sure that I had plenty of vitamin c in my diet. I have really taken that to heart and have tried to increase my water intake and vitamin c in my diet to keep the sicknesses that are lingering around far away from me!

I didn’t really know what foods were full of vitamin c besides oranges. I did some research and found some other great options to give my diet variety while increasing my vitamin c intake. [Read more…]

If you have followed along on social media, you probably know that I have been at a maker summit for the past few days. It has been such a neat experience and has been really fun to be able to experience it with some of my closest friends.

Traveling can be such a hard thing on our bodies, especially when you have to wake up so early to travel. I knew that I wanted to keep on top of any chances of getting sick, so I came prepared with my Ricola Herbal Immunity Lozenges. [Read more…]

Resetting Health Goals

I am sharing #Ricola in my life as part of a sponsored series for Socialstars™. #RicolaCrowd

I feel like when the school year starts, it is kind of the unofficial new year to reset goals after things got put to the side during the summer. I like to sit down and reset how I structure my weeks, make goals for my business, and make personal goals. Most of my personal goals revolve around my health. I like to continue to try to hold myself accountable year round and make sure I am living a healthy lifestyle before all of the cold and flu germs start making their way through everyone.

Finding Time to Stretch on www.girllovesglam.com #swissherbs

Exercise has always been an important part of my life but as I have gotten older, I have realized that it is actually a lot more therapeutic for me than I ever realized. Even if I don’t have time to fit in a full workout in my busy day, I like to make sure that I can at least stretch my body. I like to stretch in my office because it is the one room in my house that I feel like I am in total control of the mess that happens. It is kind of like my little retreat each day. [Read more…]

Friends Make The World Go Round

I am sharing #Ricola  in my life as part of a sponsored series for Socialstars™ #Swissherbs

Growing up, I always felt a little jealous of the people who seemed to have the same friends their entire lives. I definitely had friends, but I didn’t really feel like I had the same friends that were my best friends all of the time. Now that I am an adult, I appreciate that in a way because I was able to get to know a lot more people and become friends with lots of people instead of being so exclusive. I think most adults would make a similar statement and say that they had a hard time with friends growing up. It is kind of a passage of life!

Now that I am an adult, I can really appreciate friendships more. Friends are more than just people that I can hang out with, they are an extension of me and are basically family members! I have been incredibly blessed to be able to make some of the best friends I could ever ask for through blogging.

There aren’t any phony laughing pictures that happen with us. They are legitimate, ugly laughs that get caught on camera and I am so grateful for them! International Friendship Day is July 30th and I couldn’t think of a better way of honoring that than to give a major shout out and virtual butt slap to some of my favorite ladies in the entire world. Summer Wellness

I am sharing #Ricola in my life as part of a sponsored series for Socialstars™ #SwissHerbs

I find myself looking forward to summer all year long. It is such a happy time of year! I find myself feeling sad during the winter months and really love how bright and warm it is during the summer. Because it is something that I look forward to all year, I try to spend my summers doing things that I love! We made a little summer list of things that we wanted to do and are working to get things checked off on that list.

Advice Worth Passing Down

I’m sharing #Ricola in my life as part of a Ricola® sponsored series for Socialstars™

I often times find myself watching my four year old daughter and wondering what traits of hers is she going to gain specifically because of me. I pray that they will be good traits, but I know that they won’t all be.

Being a young mom on www.girllovesglam.com #swissherbs

I look at my life and realize that I have many traits that I have gained because of the people in my life. I love to create. I love to create projects both on and off of the computer. I grew up with a mom who loved decorating and crafting. I even watched as she built her own successful wedding floral business. My dad loves to create in his own way. He works hard on projects on his computer and around the house. I would say that in some ways, I inherited all of those from my parents and I hope to pass that same love of creating on to my offspring. [Read more…]

Managing Spring Allergy Symptoms

I’m sharing #Ricola  in my life as part of a Ricola sponsored series for Socialstars™

As much as I love enjoying the warm spring weather, it can also be a really hard time of year for me and my family. We all suffer from seasonal allergies that almost make it worth just staying inside instead of enjoying the outdoors. We have found a few things that have really helped us this season and we have still been able to enjoy a lot of things outside. There are some really great outdoor malls that I definitely don’t want to miss out on just because of seasonal allergies. When I did my last photo shoot, we went to one of the outdoor malls. The last thing I want is to have to deal with allergies when I am trying to look my best for pictures.

Spring Allergies #swissherbs

The photoshoot ended up being a total success, even with the four year old in tow. The weather worked with us (which is very rare for Idaho) and my allergies didn’t bother me too much to be able to work it for the camera. [Read more…]
