Chunky Braided Scarf

I just can’t get enough of my Fall accessories. I love them all! Every once and a while, I get a crazy idea that I can’t get out of my brain and that’s exactly what happened when I thought of this crazy chunky braided scarf.

DIY Chunky Braided Scarf Tutorial on www.girllovesglam.com

Here is the craziest part. I made this in June! Yes, you heard me right… JUNE! Thankfully this crazy idea came just in time for when Jo-Ann stores asked me to be a part of their Fall look book. It was a perfect fit! The thing I love most about this scarf is that it looks like a cross between macrame and crochet, but it is neither! I don’t know how to do either of those things, but I CAN braid! This takes a lot of yarn, but it is super easy to make. To make your own, you need… [Read more…]

I love classic black and white. Things get even better when gold is involved too. That could be why I am obsessed with this bracelet. It could also be because it mixes my favorite hard and soft elements too with a leather bow and chain. So much goodness in one little bracelet.

Instead of using white leather cord, I used a really light gold that kind of resembles white when it is in the light because I felt like it would look a little more classic without such a high contrast. I really like how it all turned out.

DIY Hat and Necklace Display

I was challenged by FloraCraft® to come up with a way to use one of their foam heads. I really wanted to come up with something that wasn’t Halloween related and this is what I came up with!

Hat and Necklace Display tutorial on www.girllovesglam.com

While watching Downton Abby, I was inspired by their gorgeous outfits and accessories. I wanted to take a little slice of Downton Abby for myself and make a hat and necklace display like they used to have back in the old days. I love that I am able to switch out what hat and necklace I display on it to keep in my office. It helps add a fun, unique style to the room and is still totally functional. [Read more…]

Candy Corn Bunting & $100 Expressions Vinyl Giveaway!

I love decorating my house for Halloween. I don’t know what it is about Halloween that I love so much, but there is something about decorating my house for Halloween that is a little magical for me. I am not a scary Halloween decor fan, but I am not a cutesy-fartsy-craftsy-tootsie-wootsie Halloween decorator either. I like to decorate for Halloween, with the same modern/colorful/geometric loving/happy vibes I decorate with everyday. That’s why I loved the idea of a very simplistic banner going across my fireplace mantel that I now have in this new place. Oh, the possibilities!

That’s why the idea of this vinyl candy corn bunting was so attractive to me. Clean lines, simple design, and a splash of color. It literally took me 30 minutes to whip this up, so if it wasn’t already great, things just got better!

Modern Industrial Wood Slice Shelf Tutorial

This post contains affiliate links.

I have been wanting to find the perfect accent shelves that felt modern, but totally different than all of the pipe shelves I have been seeing out there. I looked and looked, but just couldn’t find anything that I absolutely loved and could justify spending the money on. So, I took matters into my own hands and decided to make them myself!

DIY Interactive Toddler Number Book

This post was seen first on The Ribbon Retreat. Now you can all enjoy it too!

My daughter absolutely loves to count. She counts everything she finds. This book is great because she can read it and count along with it, she can admire the cute pictures that she is counting, and she can even draw on it and practice writing her letters! It is perfect for toddlers because they get excited about back to school time, but she isn’t old enough to go to school yet, so she gets to learn with this fun book at home.

Kid Craft: Puffy Finger Paint Recipe

Puffy Finger Paint Recipe on www.girllovesglam.com

I absolutely love to craft with my toddler. Sometimes it can get pretty crazy, but that is part of the fun and the experience! Before I was a mom, I would substitute teach at a special needs preschool every once and a while. The teachers there taught me the coolest trick for making puffy finger paint! I couldn’t wait to use it with my own kids. It was so fun to do with my daughter. Although it took her a little while to warm up to the idea of putting her hands in the paint, she was a total natural once she really dug in and got her hands dirty! One really great part about this paint, is that it is made of just 3 ingredients that you probably already have at your house!
