Race Bib and Medal Display

Last June, I ran my first 5k. It may not seem like much to many runners out there, but it was a huge deal to me. I grew up battling asthma and always had a mental block when it came to running because I was afraid I would have an asthma attack. I overcame a lot to be able to run that first race and was able to run a few more 5k races and even a 10k! I have saved all of my race bibs and medals, but they have just been taking up space on a shelf in my closet. I wanted a way to display them without them taking up too much space, so I came up with this beautiful race bib and medal display!

Personalized Christmas

I think I am the most excited for Christmas this year. More so than I think I have ever been. Part of it may be the fact that we are kind of missing out on Thanksgiving, due to the fact that we will be on airplanes all day that day. I decided to get my house all decorated for Christmas before we go to Disneyland, so it will be all ready for us when we get home. I love coming home to a clean house and coming home to a clean AND decorated house will be magical!

Christmas Decor Idea with Custom Stockings on www.girllovesglam.com

Three years ago, I decided to decorate with mint, red, gold, and “gilver” and it is a color combination that I have really loved ever since. I love that I found a color combination that I haven’t gotten tired of because I have been able to switch out a few pieces of decor and add other things to make it feel more modern and on trend for the current year, without having to completely change all of my Christmas decor. This year, I wanted to add some more personal touches into our decor and I knew that Shutterfly would be just the way to do that. [Read more…]

Kitchen Pantry Subway Art and Giveaway

I have lived in my house for just over 2 months now. Usually, I am the type of person to move in and get everything decorated right away. I totally have been dragging my feet this time around! Part of it may be the fact that we have heard horror stories about the property management company we are renting through and I get freaked out to hang anything up in my house. Just last week, I hung up the first thing in my house and it turned on some sort of switch within me and I have been slowly working my way through the house as I decorate. One of the first rooms I worked on was my kitchen. We spend a lot of time in there and I wanted it to feel like a happy place to be!

I absolutely loved the idea of putting some sort of design on my pantry door, but wasn’t sure what to put on it. I started looking through the Silhouette store and fell in love with this kitchen subway art graphic that they had. I purchased it right away! This was a fun little project and I love the pop of color that it helps add to my kitchen as well.

Easy Bedroom Update

My bedroom in my old house was a total disaster. I did very little decorating in it because it quickly had become a dropping spot for random stuff that needed a home. It didn’t feel like the mature, adult bedroom that I wanted.

Before Bedroom

Where we were just renting, we didn’t have the option of painting the room, but we needed to do something!

Before Bedroom makeover

We decided to get some great furniture pieces that would help make the room feel more grown up. We also took the initiative to clean out the room and make it a place free of clutter. It made a world of difference!

Headboard After

We found some furniture pieces from Sauder Furniture that we just fell in love with. We hadn’t had a headboard for our bed in years and adding this gorgeous headboard instantly made our bed look more grown up. [Read more…]

Easy Tips to Bring Color into a Room Without Using Paint

Ever since we moved last year, I have been given totally new decorating challenges. Not only are the spaces in my home much different than they were in my old house, but we are renting this time around and that brings totally new challenges! When we walked through our rental options, I was immediately drawn to the townhouse we chose because it had white walls. A clean slate! With that comes different challenges though. I love color! I like to create happy, colorful rooms and painting walls is no longer an option!

My Custom Artwork

have been looking for the perfect artwork for my house. I love colorful artwork and have been on the hunt for a graphic, colorful floral print, but haven’t ever found the right colors for my house. When I went to Build Your Blog Conference this year, I learned about a new company that I just knew I would love. They are called Modify Ink and YOU GUYS… They are amazing! It is a website that has tons of really great art that has been designed, BUT you can change up any of the colors within the design to match your decor perfectly. How perfect is that?!

Decorating with Betsey Johnson and Kleenex

I’m showcasing the new Kleenex Brand Ready to Care Collection by Betsey Johnson as part of a sponsored series with Socialstars. #KleenexBetseyStyle

Exactly one year ago, I was in New York City celebrating with Kleenex Brand. They had just announced their first collaboration with a designer and I was able to go to their big reveal with Isaac Mizrahi. It was such a fun experience! Being there and working with Kleenex before my trip, I really came to appreciate Kleenex as a company more than I ever had before. I have always been an avid Kleenex fan, but I really loved them after that trip. Imagine my excitement when I found out that one of my favorite companies (Kleenex) teamed up with my very favorite designer this year, the Kleenex Brand Ready to Care Collection by Betsey Johnson!

Words really can’t express just how perfect all of these designs are for my home decor. They have fit in seamlessly. I love that Kleenex has designs like this that fit in perfectly with real lifestyles. A Kleenex box can sit out on a table and feel like a piece of decor, instead of an eyesore.

The missing element of my home decor

I am not necessarily a home decor blogger, but you have seen me share many of my room transformations that I have made. I don’t typically take on anything too crazy, like building furniture or knocking down walls. I find joy in creating beautiful spaces by making relatively small, more realistic changes in a room. I am a big fan of the power of paint and the right textures within a room. With all of the room makeovers I have done, I realized that there was one thing missing. It isn’t something that can be seen though. All of my designs were missing the right scent to go along with it! A room can be absolutely beautiful, but when it is paired with a delicious scent it turns into something extra special.

My old house was just that, old! It was almost 100 years old! Old houses seem to come with their own scents. That isn’t really a good thing though! Anytime we would leave our house for longer than an afternoon, our house would smell terribly! As cute as my house became after we got it all decorated, it just wasn’t ever perfect because it didn’t ever smell like home. I was so thrilled to learn about Unstopables. I knew they were just the products I needed to make my new place not only feel like home, but smell like home as well.
