Before using Shortlist Skincare, my skin was feeling very dry. I would get random breakouts because my skin was so dry and it was so frustrating! [Read more…]

Powerful Oil Blends

Over the last couple of years, I have really started to focus on treating my skin with more natural products than I ever have before. I have really enjoyed finding products that aren’t necessarily the most popular things you find on the beauty shelves, but are better for my body!

I recently learned about Healing Natural Oils and decided to give a few of their products a try. I shared on my Insta stories when I was starting and I got a really great response from people who wanted to hear about my experience with these oil blends.  [Read more…]

I have learned throughout the years that I care more and more about what ingredients I am putting in and on my body. I used to think that you could only control what food you put in your body, but I have loved learning more about homemade cosmetics to put on my body as well!

Simple Skincare

’m sharing #Shortlist in my life as part of a Shortlist sponsored series for Socialstars™

It is no secret that I love beauty products. I love trying new products! There aren’t many products that I continually purchase. Not because I don’t love them, but because I love trying new things! Because my skin is constantly going through changing routines as I try different products, I have been on the look for products with really simple ingredients. I have tried a few that just haven’t felt up to par with previous skincare products that I have used, but I finally found a simple skincare system that I have been really enjoying!

My Favorite Overachieving Olay Product

I have tried many products over the years. There are some that I just can’t get enough of and I have shared many of those products with you. I don’t think I have been quite as impressed with a skincare product as I was when I tried the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream! It is unlike any product I have ever tried before, especially in the price range that Olay is in.

Apparently I am not the only one feeling this way about the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream! In an independent test by the Good Housekeeping Institute, they found that Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream outperforms 10 top creams, including one with a price tag of over $400! It sounds silly, but I feel like I need to start thinking a lot more about anti-aging products now that I am nearing the age of 30. I have heard so many people say that they wished they would have started their anti-aging routine earlier in life.

Makeup Brush Cleaning Techniques and Homemade Cleaner

Let’s face it, cleaning makeup brushes isn’t the most enjoyable activity to do. Because of that, often times it gets put off and we are left with dirty brushes that cause uneven makeup application and breakouts on our skin. It is so important to clean your makeup brushes! I used totally dread cleaning them, but I have learned a few tricks to making the process a little faster and more enjoyable. I want to share my top two makeup brush cleaning techniques and my top secret homemade brush cleaner!

Olay 28 Day Skin Study Results

This post is sponsored by Olay and Walmart. All thoughts and opinions are  my own. #28DaysofOlay

After having a baby, my skin has really struggled. There are so many hormones that have made my skin randomly breakout and the lack of sleep has left my skin looking pretty lifeless! I was in need of a major skin makeover.

Before Olay Skin Study on www.girllovesglam.com

I took action to make my skin better by using the Olay Skin Advisor Tool. It is a pretty amazing tool! You just visit https://skinadvisor.olay.com/ on your mobile device and follow the instructions it gives you. You take a photo of yourself when you aren’t wearing any makeup and the Skin Advisor will analyze your skin and give your a skin age estimate. Once you get your skin age, it gives specific product recommendations for your skincare needs. All of the products it recommends are available for purchase at Walmart, so it isn’t going to be sending you on a crazy hunt for all of the products.

The Skin Advisor actually told me that my skin age was 26. I was pleasantly surprised that it was two years younger than my actual age. But then it did point out that I had a lot of dark circles under my eyes and that my skin could use some brightening. I couldn’t agree more! There were two Olay products recommendations that I really wanted to try using for my eyes and face during my 28 day skin study. I used the Olay Total Effects 7 Revitalizing Foaming Cleanser to rejuvenate my skin and I used the Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream to help with the “tired mom” look I had going on before.

It is actually pretty crazy to see just how much my skin changed in 28 days. The biggest difference that I have noticed is how much brighter my skin is. My skin literally seems to radiate from within. I can see the biggest change under my eyes. I don’t think I realized how bad the bags under my eyes had gotten until I see what it is like without them!

You can try your own skin study by using the free Olay Skin Advisor tool and purchasing the product recommendations it gives you. I want to know about your results!

Coconut Avocado Face Mask

There is just nothing like having a nice, relaxing evening after a long day. This doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it makes the next few days feel completely different because I am refreshed and energized. One thing I like to do on nights that I get to treat myself is I like to put a facial mask on. They can get a little expensive, but thankfully there are tons of great homemade options that are totally affordable and easy to make. One of my favorites is a coconut avocado face mask. It is packed full of moisture and makes my skin feel great!

All Natural Skin Exfoliant for Less Than $1!

I hadn’t ever used skin exfoliant until I was in beauty school. I struggled with clogged pores all through high school and when I found out that all I had to do to make my skin look about 1,000 times better was by exfoliating, I was thrilled! The problem was that the skincare line that was used at my beauty school was quite expensive and I hated spending that much money for an exfoliant. After I started working in a day spa, I learned a trick to creating the perfect skin exfoliant for less than $1!

The thing I love the most about creating my own exfoliant is that I have complete control over how intense the exfoliator is. Sometimes my skin needs to be exfoliated more than other times and I have total control over that when I make my own!  [Read more…]
