So although this post started with just 10 things to do before selling your house, this will have many more!

We put our house up for sale 2 1/2 weeks ago and boy have we learned a lot! Luckily, before listing it, I knew that there were a few things that we needed to do before we could do anything else. How to Dress for a Music Festival (Tips from a Concert Junky)

I have seen more concerts than I can even count. I love them! I love the experience of seeing someone’s raw talent live, while taking in all of the atmosphere of each concert and venue. It has been a passion of mine since I was 14 years old. I went to my very first music festival the summer after my freshman year and it totally opened my eyes up to a world that I instantly fell in love with.

At my first music festival, I had no idea how to dress. It was in the middle of the summer and I wore pants, a tank top, and white shoes. So many bad choices! I quickly learned that my legs were way too hot in full length pants and that my white shoes weren’t going to be white when I left at the end of the day.

As I went to more and more concerts and music festivals, I became a little smarter. I am going to share a few of my music festival dressing tips that I have learned over the last MANY concert going years.

Quick Snacks for Kids

Tracking Pixel
So much of our day is spent grabbing our things and running out the door to our next activity. It is school, doctor appointments, classes, and holiday functions. It is a constant juggle! I kept finding one problem. We would get into the car, get all buckled up, and then my daughter would say she was hungry! No matter how many times I would make sure she would eat something before we left, she would always be hungry when we got on the road. That’s why I decided to create a better solution for us. I decided to have snacks that we could grab and take with us in the car.

I’m FINALLY getting sleep!

When my 5 year old was a baby, my husband and I were diligent about the sleep program that we can chosen before she was born. She spent 11 days in the NICU and came home with her own little baby schedule that the hospital had created for her. There were definitely some hard nights but once we got her trained, she was an awesome sleeper. Flash forward to present day. My 9 month old has been a completely different experience! She has been a hard baby to train. It doesn’t help that we moved when she was almost 5 months old and have spent the last 4 months in limbo as we travel back and forth to go visit dad until we move again. I would get so discouraged when I would read articles that would claim that a 6 month old should be sleeping mostly through the night and my 6 month old was waking up every 2-3 hours! I was at my breaking point and I needed to find a better way.

I think we live in a time where homemaking has been looked down upon and I don’t think it should be that way at all! Making a house a home is something that is something that not just anyone can do. As I have grown as an adult, I have realized just how important homemaking is for my family. We have created an environment where we all help with the homemaking in order to create a home where we can feel joy! I absolutely love that Mrs. Meyer’s® Brand embraces homemaking to make products that turn homemaking into more than a duty, but more of a creative endeavor.

Because we strive to all take responsibilities in our home, it leaves more time for all of us to be together. I am not left with all of the cleaning responsibilities just because I am the mom. I think that by having my family involved with cleaning has also help give them a sense of pride in what our home looks like and how our home feels. It also has made them more responsible for the messes they make. [Read more…]

What Eyeshadow Colors to Wear With Eye Colors

I get a lot of questions about what eyeshadow colors look best on people. There are a lot of different factors that can go into it, if we really want to get technical. Instead of diving so far into it that it scares you away from trying new colors, I want to encourage you to try other colors based on your eye color. Here are what eyeshadow colors you should wear based on your eye color. I will explain a little further in detail below the infographic. If you need this graphic for reference, pin it on your Pinterest board or print out and put it in your makeup bag!

Best Eyeshadow Colors for Your Eye Colors on www.girllovesglam.com

Before I dive into each color, I want you to remember to think about your skin tone when you are choosing eyeshadow colors as well. If you have green eyes but you have cool toned skin, you should probably stay away from the warm orange and warm brown. Just use our best judgement and if you can’t tell what tones you should use, try experimenting and see for yourself what colors are working or not working with your skin tone. Both Sephora and Ulta have great return policies if you purchase something that you don’t love!  [Read more…]
