Amazing Family Halloween Costumes

I grew up going to a church Halloween party that was always a highlight of the season. Everyone got into the Halloween spirit, but one family would steal the show every year with their themed costumes. I knew that when I had a family of my own, I wanted to have a family theme for as long as my kids would participate! As soon as I became a mom, those dreams became a reality. I LOVE family Halloween costumes!

I just love to see what families choose to be together for Halloween. You can definitely tell when the kids have a say and when the choice was mostly made by the parents. No matter who chooses, I love any family who will dress up together! I hope you get some family Halloween costume inspiration! [Read more…]

Disney Food Family Costume: Disney Treats Costumes

This week has been so fun! I have finally been able to reveal all of our Disney Treats costumes! Not everyone would choose a Disney food family costume theme but I am grateful that my family did. They were all really great sports about our theme this year and were genuinely excited about it. We love Disneyland food and dressing up as our favorite Disney treats seemed like the perfect fit!

Disney Food Family Costume

The best part of all of these Disney Treats family costumes is that they are all no sew costumes. I am not a fan of sewing, so I avoid it at all costs. Our Disney food family costumes include a Mickey Ice Cream Bar costume, Dole Whip costume, Mickey Waffle costume, and a Disneyland churro costume! [Read more…]

No Sew Mickey Waffle Costume: Disney Treats Costume

My absolute favorite food at Disneyland are Mickey waffles! I have to plan a character dining experience at the Plaza Inn each time we visit, just so I can get my hands on more of those delicious waffles. They are the greatest! I even have a Mickey waffle ornament and now a shirt with Mickey waffles on it. The obsession continues as I now have a Mickey Waffle costume I get to wear this Halloween!

No Sew Mickey Waffle Costume

I love my Mickey waffle costume so much! It is the best because I can wear whatever I want under the costume and easily be able to slip the costume on and off as I go to Halloween functions. I think the best part about this Mickey waffle costume is that it doesn’t require any sewing! To make this costume, I used… [Read more…]

No Sew Mickey Ice Cream Bar Costume: Disneyland Treats Costume

Walking right down the middle of Main Street USA with this Mickey Ice Cream Bar costume. No sewing required and made with inexpensive materials, this costume is as sweet as the real thing! My 2 year old loves “Mickey pockles” aka Mickey popsicles, so when we chose our Disneyland food Halloween costume theme this year, I knew she needed to be our Mickey Ice Cream Bar!

Mickey Ice Cream Bar Costume

She absolutely loves her Mickey popsicle costume and it was really easy to make! My sewing machine and I don’t get along, so none of my Halloween costumes ever require them. They are all no sew costumes! The Mickey Ice Cream Bar costume was the easiest of all of our family costumes this year. Here is what I used to create it… [Read more…]

Imagine Dragons Smoke and Mirrors Makeup: Album Cover Makeup

Imagine Dragons Smoke and Mirrors is a really strong album. It was the time when I really realized just how deep Imagine Dragons could get. Their songs on this album are riddled with greater meaning, while the sound isn’t compromised at all. If you haven’t ever listened to the entire album, do yourself a favor give it a listen.

Imagine Dragons Smoke and Mirrors Makeup

When I was deciding what music albums I would be tackling this year with my album cover makeup looks, I knew Smoke and Mirrors needed to be in the mix. Not only is it one of my favorite albums, but the album cover itself is pretty amazing. The cover art was created by an artist named Tim Cantor, who’s style is a little dark and pretty complex, while also keeping it relatively simple. I was really inspired by the colors and textures in the album art and knew I needed to represent it in the best way I could through my album cover makeup.

No Sew Willy Wonka Costume for Girls

This year’s Willy Wonka family costume theme has been my favorite family themed costume we have ever done. I loved making each of the costumes! Today, I am sharing the main man himself, Willy Wonka! Only there is a slight twist. It is a Willy Wonka costume for girls! If you missed the Wonka Bar costume and the Golden Ticket costume, check those out too!

I love that my daughter is willing to dress up as a male character, but knows that I will make it feel girly enough for her personality. I just love how all of the details came together to feel like a Willy Wonka costume, but with a girl twist!  [Read more…]

Wonka Bar Costume

There is nothing that screams Willy Wonka more than a classic Wonka Bar! That is why I was excited to be a Wonka Bar in our Willy Wonka family Halloween costume theme. Yesterday, I shared the Wonka Golden Ticket costume. Today is all about the no sew Wonka Bar costume!

No Sew Baby Little Red Riding Hood Costume

Dressing a baby up for their first Halloween is something I truly look forward to. I was excited to come up with my own version of a baby Little Red Riding Hood costume and I am pretty much obsessed with how it turned out!

As if the costume wasn’t cute enough, probably the greatest part about making this costume is that it doesn’t require a sewing machine! Literally the only “sewing” was putting a little stitch through the giant button. Originally, I was going to just glue it on but I didn’t want it to come off when my baby pulled on it so I decided to stitch it on. If that is all of the sewing that It takes to make my baby a costume, I will take it!

Pretty Big Bad Wolf Girl Costume

When my five year old saw the Pottery Barn Halloween catalog, she instantly fell in love with a deer costume. She mistakenly thought it was a wolf at first and that instantly inspired this year’s family Halloween costume theme of Red Riding Hood characters. But instead of being the Big Bad Wolf, we like to think of our wolf as the Pretty Nice Wolf.

This costume was incredibly easy to make. In fact, I was able to get it completely finished in less time than it takes for my 5 year old to go to kindergarten. It is a very close version of the Pottery Barn costume that she fell in love with, but I actually love the extra details we added to our costume a little more! The greatest part about it all is the fact that it is 100% no sew!

Red Riding Hood Family Halloween Costume

It is FINALLY time for my favorite series of posts of the entire year! Our family Halloween costume! I had no idea that this would become such a tradition for me, but I look forward to creating themed costumes for my family each and every year. They still get excited about it too, but I dread the day that I have teenagers who won’t dress up in a theme with me anymore. This year, we decided to be Little Red Riding Hood characters!

The best part about all of these costumes is that they are all NO SEW! I have said it once, I will say it a million times… sewing makes me swear. I know I have been given some talents but sewing just is not one of them! So rest assured that any costumes you see on my site aren’t going to require a sewing machine.  [Read more…]
