I love classic black and white. Things get even better when gold is involved too. That could be why I am obsessed with this bracelet. It could also be because it mixes my favorite hard and soft elements too with a leather bow and chain. So much goodness in one little bracelet.

Instead of using white leather cord, I used a really light gold that kind of resembles white when it is in the light because I felt like it would look a little more classic without such a high contrast. I really like how it all turned out.

To make your own, you need…

(I bought gold leather that is pictured above that I didn’t use. I bought everything at Jo-Ann Crafts)

-Large gold jewelry chain

-Black and gold faux leather cord

-Black leather

-Gold jewelry closures and links

-Wire cutter

-Needle nose pliers

-E6000 glue

Wrap the chain around your wrist to see how big you need it to be. Remove the excess chain. Cut two black pieces and one gold piece of the faux leather cords to be about 4 inches longer than the chain. Weave the cords into the chain. Do the two black ones first, then the gold so that the gold lays on top of the black ones a little bit.

Make the leather bow by cutting a leather rectangle (this will be as wide as you want your bow to be). Fold one end of the rectangle over to about the center and the other side over the center, overlapping the other edge slightly. Scrunch the rectangle together and glue the center point where it creates the bow. Hold it there until it dries. Cut a small strip of leather and wrap it around the center and glue together in the back.

Fold over the ends of the faux leather cord over and glue it to itself. I put bobby pins over it so it would hold it into place. Glue the bow to the top of the chain, where you want it to hit. Let everything dry. Cut smaller pieces of cord and wrap them around the ends of the cord and glue on the back.

Add the jewelry closure to the ends of the bracelet. Take the bobby pins off once everything is completely dry and cut off the excess leather strips.
