I felt the magic of swiss herbs in Ricola® Herb & Throat drops as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars. #swissherbs
I know it is a well known concept to take a sick day off of work. I don’t do that often, where I work from home. I can usually work around sickness. Have you ever thought about taking a well day? I like to think of them as mental health days. Days that you can forget about work and enjoy doing something else. Work hours for bloggers can be weird. I work a lot of late nights and weekends because I am also a mom and on the weekends I have help at home so I can focus on getting things done for my blog. Last Saturday, Dave surprised me on Friday and told me we were going to go skiing and snowboarding the next day! I was so excited! Snowboarding used to be a major part of my life but after getting married, it just wasn’t something we could afford to go do. In the last 6 1/2 years of marriage, we have only gone once.
I had been feeling a slight cold coming on because my daughter had just gotten over a cold, so I made sure to pack my Ricola Extra Strength Cough Suppressant Drops along with all of my other snow gear. I knew this would be a great way to fight off the cold while still being able to enjoy my trip.
These Ricola Extra Strength drops mean serious business! They do a great job of rejuvenating me, even when I am starting to feel my cold symptoms coming because of the chrüterchraft, Ricola’s natural yet effective blend of Swiss herbs.
We got all of our things packed up and got to the hill. It was my daughter’s first time skiing. It was so fun to be able to enjoy watching her go down the bunny hill, without my cold bothering me.
Now, here is where the story gets a little more interesting. My daughter and I started getting hungry, so I told my husband to go on a few runs and come back to see if we should all go on a run together, or if I should go on a few runs by myself. Dave never came back. He had gone on one or two runs and was taken to the emergency room after he fell and fractured his back and suffered a concussion. We had no idea what had happened until a few hours later. We thought he had ditched us.
Long story short, it was a really scary experience. It has been tough to see my husband go through this. He suffered from memory loss and has really struggled with that. He hates that he can’t remember things. In the end, I am so grateful that he is okay. He has further to go, but he is alive and that is what is most important. This week has been absolutely crazy and I can’t even imagine how much crazier it would have been if I would have been fighting a cold too.
I am so glad that I make sure to kick my cold in the pants with my Ricola Extra Strength before it even became a problem!
You can tell Ricola how you would spend a free day off of work and you could win a trip to Switzerland! Find all of the details HERE.
