Layered Vinyl Christmas Tree

I absolutely love making my own Christmas decor. Mostly because I have a hard time finding Christmas decor that I absolutely love in the store! One way that I always enjoy making decor is with vinyl. I heard a quote that I sort of liked, but it was a little too cheesy for my taste, so I changed it a bit. My saying is, “Laugh, Play, Jingle all the Way”. I love how this fun Christmas tree turned out with this little phrase on it. I have plans of making shirts for my girls with this same phrase on it!

Thankful Thanksgiving Sign

Thanksgiving is one of those holidays that seems to get skipped a lot. The sad thing is it is one holiday that truly stands for something that we should all be paying attention to. It isn’t just a Thursday where we stuff our faces and make shopping plans for the next day. It is a time where we can really reflect on what we have been blessed with and surround ourselves with the people we love. I wanted to focus on being grateful for the entire month of November, so I made this sign that we can look at throughout the month and even add our own leaves to with things we are grateful for if we wanted to.

I love that this sign features geometric leaves. I am a sucker for geometric ANYTHING!

Handwritten Water Bottle Teacher Gift Idea

My husband used to be an elementary school teacher. It was always interesting to see what kinds of gifts his students would bring him. A lot of times, he would end up with loads of candy. Candy is nice, but there is only so much candy one person can take before it gets a little old! When it was time to come up with a gift to give my daughter’s preschool and dance teachers, I knew I wanted to give them something practical and personal. That’s when we came up with this darling handwritten water bottle teacher gift idea!

Handwritten Water Bottle Teacher Gift Idea

These water bottles turned out just so sweet with this little 5 year old handwriting and artwork. I know that they will be treasures for her teachers and will be sweet reminders of my daughter each time they use them. I think the best part was just how simple they were to make! Easy Bright Confetti Pumpkins Halloween Decor

I have realized as I decorate for holidays that I really like non traditional holiday decor. If there are Halloween decorations in a store that are made with colors besides just orange and black, I always find myself gravitated to them. I love the different perspective that non traditional colors can bring to a holiday. This year is the first year that I have had the opportunity to decorate for Halloween in our current home because we moved almost exactly a year ago and the last thing I was about to do was decorate for Halloween when I was just trying to get my life out of boxes. It has been really fun to decorate this year and to take out old decor that I forgot that I even owned! One spot in my house that I knew I wouldn’t have decor for was my coffee table. We have a tray that goes on there that usually has succulents in it but I wanted something a little more festive for Halloween. I knew that I didn’t want it to be totally traditional because my living room is such a bright and cheery space.

The perfect solution was to make these adorable confetti pumpkins!

Floral and Polka Dot Acrylic Makeup Case

This post contains affiliate links and was written as a part of an ambassadorship with Expressions Vinyl.

Need a great Mother’s Day gift idea? Mother’s Day can be hard holiday to shop for because you want your gift to be thoughtful. The problem is a lot of thoughtful gifts aren’t necessarily things that mom can use. I love the idea of combining both a practical gift with something thoughtful that she will love. That’s why I decided to cover a clear acrylic makeup case with vinyl to turn it into a floral and polka dot makeup holder and fill it with some of my favorite beauty products as the perfect Mother’s Day gift!

Kitchen Pantry Subway Art and Giveaway

I have lived in my house for just over 2 months now. Usually, I am the type of person to move in and get everything decorated right away. I totally have been dragging my feet this time around! Part of it may be the fact that we have heard horror stories about the property management company we are renting through and I get freaked out to hang anything up in my house. Just last week, I hung up the first thing in my house and it turned on some sort of switch within me and I have been slowly working my way through the house as I decorate. One of the first rooms I worked on was my kitchen. We spend a lot of time in there and I wanted it to feel like a happy place to be!

I absolutely loved the idea of putting some sort of design on my pantry door, but wasn’t sure what to put on it. I started looking through the Silhouette store and fell in love with this kitchen subway art graphic that they had. I purchased it right away! This was a fun little project and I love the pop of color that it helps add to my kitchen as well.

Geometric Vinyl Baseball Tee

Printed baseball tees are all over the place these days. Most of the baseball tees that I have seen around have been floral print, but I love geometric shapes. When I was invited to participate in the Expressions Vinyl Geometric Week, I knew that I needed to make a geometric baseball tee!

Frozen Elsa and Anna DIY Vinyl Cups

Frozen Elsa and Anna DIY Vinyl Cups are so easy to make!

DIY Frozen Cups on www.girllovesglam.com

You may remember my post about my Disney Princess cups I made. I have really loved those cups, but I kept getting requests for Frozen characters. Can I let you in on a little secret? That Disney princess cup project was something I did in early 2013, before any of us knew Anna and Elsa! After I started getting requests for Frozen cups, I knew I needed to make an Anna and Elsa to join the rest of the Disney Princess cup gang.

These are both pretty darn easy to make. I didn’t use any vinyl cutters for these because I wanted them to be something that ANYONE could make!

Here is what I used to make these… [Read more…]
