Pumpkin Pie Bath Bomb Recipe

It is the time of year when all things are pumpkin spice. I am actually not a fan of the taste of pumpkin spice, unless it is in the form of pumpkin bread or pumpkin cookies! I do, however, love the smell of pumpkin. That’s why I knew that October’s recipe needed to be a pumpkin pie bath bomb!

Thankful Thanksgiving Sign

Thanksgiving is one of those holidays that seems to get skipped a lot. The sad thing is it is one holiday that truly stands for something that we should all be paying attention to. It isn’t just a Thursday where we stuff our faces and make shopping plans for the next day. It is a time where we can really reflect on what we have been blessed with and surround ourselves with the people we love. I wanted to focus on being grateful for the entire month of November, so I made this sign that we can look at throughout the month and even add our own leaves to with things we are grateful for if we wanted to.

I love that this sign features geometric leaves. I am a sucker for geometric ANYTHING!

5 Simple Tips for Healthy Eating this Holiday Season

Many of you have made comments about my husband’s noticeable weight loss that has occurred this year. He has lost over 50 lbs since May! While I have been been putting on the baby weight, he has been focusing on his health in a major way and has lost more weight than our four year old weighs!

Before and After 50 lb weight loss

One of the things that Dave has really changed has been how he eats. Going from someone who drank a lot of Dr. Pepper everyday to someone who loves to stay home and make delicious, healthy food is a pretty huge transformation itself!

He recently started a blog called Run.Eat.Poop.Repeat. where he is documenting his experience as he continues to strive to live a healthy lifestyle. He offered to share some of his tips to eating healthy during the holiday season for all of you! Although he hasn’t experienced a Thanksgiving or Christmas with his new, healthy lifestyle, he has endured anniversaries, birthdays, etc throughout the year that he has really learned from. If you are interested in following along with his journey and getting more tips, you can follow his blog. He would LOVE the support!

No Sew Faux Leather Thanksgiving Table Runner

It is Throwback Thursday again! Now that Halloween has come and gone, are you the type to decorate for Thanksgiving or do you jump straight to Christmas? I like to give Thanksgiving its own glory before jumping into Christmas, mostly because I don’t like all of the clutter that comes with Christmas decor and having it up this early would drive me crazy. I like to decorate pretty minimally when it comes to Thanksgiving. It gives me a nice break between the Halloween and Christmas decor. I mostly just keep out the pumpkins that don’t look overly Halloween and then add a few more things to turn it into Fall decor.

One of my favorite pieces of Fall decor that I like to pull out each year is my faux leather Thanksgiving table runner that I made several years ago. It is still a favorite of mine after all of these years and it is today’s Throwback Thursday!

For my Thanksgiving table craft, I decided to make a faux leather table runner. I love switching up my table runners throughout the seasons. Right now, leather is really trendy and I wanted to play off of that for my Thanksgiving table runner.

To make your own, you need…
*Faux leather (this can be found at the fabric store. Don’t forget to use a coupon to make it nearly half price!)
*Metallic paint in 3 colors
*Paint brushes

First, cut the faux leather to the size that you need it to be. The great thing about using faux leather, is that it doesn’t fray so you don’t need to sew it at all! I love me a good no sew project!

Paint the words onto the material. I just free handed it, but you could find a font you love and trace it too.

Use a straight edge and paint lines randomly on the faux leather. I didn’t go in any particular order, I just went with it!

After I painted lines to go all up and down the table runner, I let it dry and put it out with my Thanksgiving decor!

It is the perfect addition to my Thanksgiving decor. I love that it is a more modern twist on Thanksgiving decor!
