We’re headed to Disneyland next month and we’re getting everything prepped and ready to go! One thing that I knew I wanted to take was a fun Disney tote bag that we could keep all of our Disneyland essentials in. I wanted something Disney themed, without feeling too cheesy. That’s why I loved this simple Mickey Mouse inspired design I came up with!

Where to Buy Stylish Disney Clothes

Before I became a mom, I swore I would NEVER buy my child character clothes or shoes. It seemed to me that every item of clothing I would see with a character on it was so dang cheesy! Then I got a little girl who became obsessed with characters. We started the character clothes with just her socks. I let her have character socks and she loved it! But soon she was wanting more. So I started opening my mind up to the thoughts of putting character clothes on my child. Once I became open to it, I started finding hidden gems! Character clothes that didn’t have cheesy phrases on them or screamed “Look at me! I love this character!” and both mom and child could be happy!

Minnie Mouse Hair Clip and Disneyland GIVEAWAY

Yes, you read that correctly. Somebody is going to win a Southern California trip! All of the giveaway info is at the bottom of this post!

When you have a daughter who is as Minnie Mouse obsessed as I do, you have to think of every possible Minnie Mouse themed piece of clothing and accessory that you can make because she just can’t have enough! One day, I was doing her hair and I watched as she carefully chose which bow to wear. It hit me that we could totally make her her own Minnie Mouse inspired bow that would have her feeling like she was wearing Minnie ears any day, without feeling like she is wearing a dress up.

Big Disney Announcements!

Last weekend, the D23 event was held. If you aren’t sure what that is, it is basically the event of all Disney events! It is where Disney announces all of the big news about upcoming changes to their parks, movies, etc. It’s basically a huge, nerdy dream of mine to attend D23 someday! Because I am just too excited to keep all of these D23 announcements to myself, I wanted to share some of my personal favorite announcements that Disney made!

Disneyland Character Dining Guide

When we went to Disneyland and California Adventure in November, I wanted it to be an extra special experience for us since it was the first time that my husband and daughter would be at Disneyland. I also wanted to try something that I had never done at Disneyland before, so I decided that character dining might be a great option for us. I did a lot of research before choosing our Disneyland character dining experiences and want to share what we experienced and what I have learned about them.

Disneyland Packing Tips

I was given the EzPacking products to try out, but was not compensated in any other way for this post.

We took the big plunge in November and went on our first big vacation as a family. We have gone on little trips, but nothing too big that has just been the three of us. We decided to take our first trip to Disneyland together. The last time I went to Disneyland, I was in 4th grade. It has changed just a little bit since I was there last. You know, like that ENTIRE new park there?! That’s right! California Adventure wasn’t even there the last time I went to Disneyland. Dave and Harper had never been to Disneyland either, so we went big and not only went during their 60th Anniversary celebration, but we went during the holidays too! You can start calling us crazy right about… NOW! Honestly I thought it was going to be kind of a nightmare, but it ended up being a really special trip for our family. I am far from a Disneyland expert now, but I did learn some really valuable things about Disneyland travel. One area that I would consider myself kind of an expert in would have to be organization. This especially came in handy with packing for Disneyland. Here are a few tips that I highly recommend if you are going to be visiting the happiest place on earth any time soon!

Favorite Things: May 2015

As you know, my favorite things posts each month come with a video. Things are different this month. I have ZERO voice! I still really wanted to share my favorite things with you though because I had to cut down my favorite things list because there were so many things that I just fell in love with this month.

May 2015 Favorite Things on www.girllovesglam.com

1. Get Away Today (The Disney Shirt)- If you didn’t see it from THIS post, we are going to Disneyland this Fall and Get Away Today totally hooked us up with killer deals on tickets and a layaway payment plan for them! They are hooking up Girl Loves Glam readers with $10 off your Southern California trip when you use the code GLG15 I am so excited for this trip and I just had to own this shirt to wear when we go to Disneyland. If you need to own one of these too, I found it HERE for super cheap!

2. Organic Simple Bites- These are found at Costco and they are pretty much a match made in heaven for Greek yogurt. They are perfect for breakfast!

3. Heated Eyelash Curler– I was introduced to this by a friend at Snap Conference and I instantly fell in love… well, as soon as I went and bought one and got home and put batteries in it. Note to self, if you are buying it and want to use it instantly, buy batteries too! This little tool can curl eyelashes like none other!

4. Beauty Blender Sponge Stick- I found this one at Forever 21. It was super cheap, but it has already fallen apart and been glued once. I will be purchasing a new one eventually. I LOVE having the sponge on the stick! I found some other decently priced ones HERE too.

5. KISS Nail kits– I recently discovered these and I just love them! I love that they can be purchased at regular stores like Walmart and Walgreens and I love that they are making nail art more accessible to create for anyone. I just had to get a few of them! I especially love the tool kit. It seriously has everything you would need to start doing nail art!

These are the favorite things I can’t live without this month. I have a few honorable mention items that I will probably save for next month, but I want to know… What are YOUR favorite things this month?

How we are paying for our Disneyland vacation!

Guys! I am SO excited! We officially are going to Disneyland this Fall! I know that a lot of people go on Disney vacations, but this is a really big deal for my little family. It will be the first time that Dave and Harper will have been. I haven’t been to Disneyland since they had California Adventure, so it has been a while for me too. At the age that my daughter is at right now, she is obsessed with all things Disney and I just couldn’t wait any longer to go. We have been wanting to go for a while, but just couldn’t find the way to save up to go. Even since we moved and Dave has a higher paying job, saving up to go seemed like quite the task. Any time we have extra money saved up, it is just SO dang tempting to spend that money! We are no good at saving up for things. But, we have finally found a way to save up for Disneyland that will actually work for us! Here is how we are paying for our Disneyland vacation!

Minnie Mouse Ears Toddler Hairstyle

I have a major Minnie Mouse fan at my house. One day as I was trying to think of something to do with her hair, she wasn’t really cooperating. I was kind of desperate to come up with an idea for her hair that she would sit still for. When I couldn’t think of anything, I asked her what kind of hair she wanted that day. I was not at all prepared for what she was about to throw at me… Minnie Mouse hair! Say what?! Minnie Mouse doesn’t even have hair! That is when I came up with the idea to do Minnie Mouse EARS as the toddler hairstyle instead of her hair that doesn’t actually exist.

There are a few really great things about this hairstyle. One of the great things is that it is really easy to do, but what is probably the greatest thing is what happens if you do it when the hair is wet! If you do this hairstyle when the hair is wet, it turns out really smooth (Unlike the photos I have of the hairstyle. We were kind of a hot mess all together that day.), the hairstyle will usually stay looking good for at least another day after you have done it, AND when the buns start looking a little bent out of shape you can take them out and they leave the most adorable ringlets behind that make for a super cute ponytail on the last day. If your girls are anything like mine, they HATE getting their hair washed. This hairstyle is a saving grace that it lets me get away with not washing her hair for about 2 days, so we can enjoy bath time without the dreaded hair washing fight. [Read more…]
