Disney Character Inspired Picture Frame

We just got back from a trip to Disneyland and it was just the best! I am pretty sure I was the most annoying Instagrammer on my personal account because I posted all of my photos so they could be added to my photo books. But I also wanted to be able to see a photo to remind us of our trip all of the time. I had looked at picture frames at the Disney store, but they were just too pricey! Thankfully with a little vinyl and my Silhouette Cameo, I could whip up something I like even better than anything I saw at the Disneyland shops!

I love the song, “Zip-a-dee-doo-dah” because I grew up watching a Disneyland sing-a-long that had that song in it. To me, no song screams Disneyland more than that one! I knew that the lyrics, “My, oh my what a wonderful day” would sum up our trip perfectly! To make this frame, I used… [Read more…]

This post is sponsored by Expressions Vinyl. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

We’re headed to Disneyland next month and we’re getting everything prepped and ready to go! One thing that I knew I wanted to take was a fun Disney tote bag that we could keep all of our Disneyland essentials in. I wanted something Disney themed, without feeling too cheesy. That’s why I loved this simple Mickey Mouse inspired design I came up with!

Where to Buy Stylish Disney Clothes

Before I became a mom, I swore I would NEVER buy my child character clothes or shoes. It seemed to me that every item of clothing I would see with a character on it was so dang cheesy! Then I got a little girl who became obsessed with characters. We started the character clothes with just her socks. I let her have character socks and she loved it! But soon she was wanting more. So I started opening my mind up to the thoughts of putting character clothes on my child. Once I became open to it, I started finding hidden gems! Character clothes that didn’t have cheesy phrases on them or screamed “Look at me! I love this character!” and both mom and child could be happy!

Over the years, I have been asked a lot about where I find character clothes for my kids. Sometimes I have wanted to keep it a secret, but I decided to finally share my secrets with you. Cause no mom deserves to have to put cheesy character clothes on their kids! [Read more…]

Minnie Mouse Hair Clip and Disneyland GIVEAWAY

Yes, you read that correctly. Somebody is going to win a Southern California trip! All of the giveaway info is at the bottom of this post!

When you have a daughter who is as Minnie Mouse obsessed as I do, you have to think of every possible Minnie Mouse themed piece of clothing and accessory that you can make because she just can’t have enough! One day, I was doing her hair and I watched as she carefully chose which bow to wear. It hit me that we could totally make her her own Minnie Mouse inspired bow that would have her feeling like she was wearing Minnie ears any day, without feeling like she is wearing a dress up.

Disney Pixar COCO Coloring Pages

COCO Coloring Pages

I always look forward to seeing what magic Disney Pixar will create with their movies. When I first started seeing previews for COCO, I was honestly a little hesitant. I wasn’t sure how a movie about dead people would be for kids. I had faith that Disney Pixar would turn it into something heartwarming and that it would be loved just as much as every one of their movies has been. When we went to a movie recently, I saw a new trailer for COCO and I knew that I my suspicions were correct in that it would be a heartwarming film that my family would enjoy. [Read more…]

Minnie Mouse Slime Recipe

We have officially caught the slime bug! We love making slime at our house and I love coming up with new recipes and new themes for each batch of slime that we make. I recently started playing around with a slime recipe that includes lotion in it that ends up making the slime so soft and smooth! I knew I needed to use that recipe when I created this fun Minnie Mouse Slime!

This slime is fun to play with just as regular slime, but it is also fun to try and treasure hunt to find the different designs that are hiding in the slime. It is a great sensory activity to play that also helps work on fine motor skills as kids use their fingers to search for the little pieces. Obviously, this isn’t a toy for kids that are too small because the beads in the slime would be considered a choking hazard. For my Minnie Mouse loving 5 year old, this slime was perfect! Big Disney Announcements!

Last weekend, the D23 event was held. If you aren’t sure what that is, it is basically the event of all Disney events! It is where Disney announces all of the big news about upcoming changes to their parks, movies, etc. It’s basically a huge, nerdy dream of mine to attend D23 someday! Because I am just too excited to keep all of these D23 announcements to myself, I wanted to share some of my personal favorite announcements that Disney made!

Simple Printable Service Project for Kids

We have loved Mickey and the Roaster Racers literally since the very first episode aired. That is why I am so excited to have Disney Junior sponsoring this post! My daughter loves that all of her favorite Mickey Mouse characters are on a new show and loves each of their cars. She has actually learned quite a bit about geography as the Roadster Racers travel the world for their races on each episode. I really like the Happy Helpers segments with Minnie and Daisy. They show Minnie and Daisy as they help different people in various situations as they learn new skills along the way. It inspired me to create a little Happy Helpers service project race for kids to participate in!

I love the idea of teaching children to perform acts of service, without any rewards attached to them. If they are treating it like a race based off of one of their favorite shows, it makes it even more enjoyable! I wanted to make each service activity something that could be done by a variety of ages and made it a printable list so you can easily print it and get serving! [Read more…]
