Black Light Lemonade Non-Alcoholic Halloween Drink Recipe

This easy, spooky drink is sure to be a hit at your Halloween party!  I have served this at my husband’s school’s Spooktacular for the past 2 years and it has been a huge money maker for his classroom. We called it “Liquid Ghost Drink”. It is rare to find a cool drink for Halloween that is non-alcoholic, so this is great for Halloween parties of all ages!

Non-Alcoholic Halloween Drink

The black light lemonade can be adjusted to pretty much any flavor you want. The key is making sure to find a drink mix that isn’t going to change the color of the tonic water too much. Tonic water glows in the black light on its own, but drinking it alone is not a good idea. It has a pretty bitter taste on its own. We have tried peach lemonade, grape, raspberry, and mango and have really enjoyed all of them. Just make sure to get a drink mix that doesn’t require you to add more sugar, as that may dilute the tonic water too much.

Remember to refrigerate your tonic water so that it is nice and cold to serve. You won’t want to put ice in it because it will dilute it. Also, be sure to have enough black lights to let the drink really glow. It is even better if you can get a few of them to let them glow all over the party!

The lemonade was good but soooooo bitter, we had to add a bunch of sugar to make it tolerable! Cool in theory and it looked fantastic though!

There are other drinks that glow under blacklights:

Yellow = drinks with vitamin B like energy drinks or add a little vitamin B to any clear drink, Blue = tonic water of course, Purple = Tonic + a touch of Cranberry Juice, Green = Yellow (vitamin B) + a few drops of blue food coloring, White = Milk drinks.

Experiment.
