Springster Decor… Spring Easter Decor and Tutorial!

Springster Decor… Spring Easter Decor and Tutorial!
This time of year can be tricky. Do you decorate your house for Spring, do you decorate for Easter? Well, here is my theory… Don’t choose! Just make up your own holiday instead. That is where I came up with the new holiday “Springster” to decorate for. Who want’s to choose EITHER Spring or Easter when you can do both without having to redecorate a bunch right after Easter comes and goes? Not this girl! Here is a little peek at my Spring and Easter decorations… err, I mean my Springster decor.

I was really inspired by the Dear Lizzy Fifth and Frolic collection that I got to play around with. It will be released in JoAnn stores on March 17, just in time for you to use it for your very own “Springster” decor!

I was really inspired by all of the great floral prints and gorgeous color pallet. I loved the hints of gold that really acted like a surprise element.

An easy way to bring in one of the papers that I was totally in love with was framing it in a picture frame to look like my own custom artwork. I am totally in love with the geometric triangle pattern that I created using some of my favorite Dear Lizzy papers and vinyl. I am sharing the tutorial for that tomorrow so stay tuned!
Update: Tutorial for the Geometric Triangle Art here.
You can also see a small glimpse of the pom pom garland that I will share the tutorial for next week!

I got this little basket at Target after Valentine’s Day. It had a heart on it, but it was easy to cover up. I just cut out one of the adorable flowers from the same paper that I framed. I also put a strip of the glitter tape, which I am dying over, on a vintage mason jar and glued one of the Dear Lizzy bows on top of it. Could that be any more cute?! Notice that I did fill up the basket with Easter eggs, this is easy to get rid of after Easter to just make this decor Spring worthy.
Now for the tutorial! I am going to show you how I made these easy Spring decorated letters using the Dear Lizzy Fifth and Frolic collection!

I love how these simple paper mache letters turned out! They were so easy to make too  Here is what you need…
diy #tutorial #craft
*paper mache letters spelling out “Spring”
*different Dear Lizzy paper for each letter
*Mod Podge
*paint
*paint brush
*scissors
*glue
#diy #tutorial #mod #podge
First, paint all of your paper mache letters. Don’t worry about doing too many coats on them. They will be covered up by the paper mostly.
#diy #tutorial #paper #mache
Trace each of the letters onto the paper. Be sure to put the side of the paper you want to show up side down and trace the letters backwards so that you don’t have pencil marks show up on your paper.
#diy #tutorial #dear #lizzy
Cut out all of your letters out of the paper.
#diy #tutorial #spring #decor #mod #podge
Now glue the paper onto each of the letters. Then paint the Mod Podge over the paper and the letters to seal the paper onto the letters. Let them dry.

Don’t they look so great with all of my decor?! I love how this paper really ties all of my Spring decor in together.
Be sure to go get some of your favorite pieces from the Dear Lizzy Fifth and Frolic collection at JoAnn’s on the 17th! I got a few more items from the collection that I will be playing with and sharing with you soon! In the meantime, be sure to follow American Crafts and JoAnn’s!
I was given the American Crafts Dear Lizzy Fifth and Frolic pieces to try out, but was not compensated in any other way for this post.
I will be linking to these great link parties here.

Love everything about your spring display! Especially that mirror. It's adorable. The letters are super cute, too. Great job.

I'd be thrilled if you'd link up at this week's Off the Hook!
