Sharpie Decorated Valentine’s Day Mailboxes

As I have said before, I am embracing Valentine’s Day this year and I have to admit, I am really liking it! What I love more than Valentine’s Day though, is going to Target and digging through their Dollar Spot section. For as inexpensive as everything is in there, I tend to spend a lot of money on all of that crap, including a few little Valentine mailboxes this year.

They started out cute already, but I knew that everyone in the entire world would have these and I wanted mine to be different. Enter the Sharpie markers. To make your own here’s what you need…

Ha! Really intense and detailed, right? Well, I tried to kind of think of ways to make each of our mailboxes a little different, but still embrace who each of us are. For Dave’s (his is my favorite), I did a subway art of things that describe him. It is really easy. Just start writing words and use different fonts and colors to do it as you go.
For Harper’s, she is sweet and girlie so I wanted to do something sweet and girlie. I drew hearts and swirls on her mailbox. Mine is all about geometric prints. I love any geometric pattern so I just went to down with little dashes and shapes until I filled up my entire mailbox.

It was a fun little doodle session to have while I watched a little TV during Harper’s nap. It is a really easy way to bring some personality to those $1 Target mailboxes.

15 Awesome Valentine’s Day Projects

The love bug has come to bite me this year! I am in full Valentine’s Day mode! I used to hate Valentine’s Day. Probably because I usually had crappy boyfriends when I was in high school that didn’t do much to “woo” me on the one day dedicated to love. I guess now that I have real love, I actually like Valentine’s Day. My little Valentine loving heart has fallen in love with a few projects I want to share with you from some of my favorite bloggers.

I am crushing hard on these projects.

Can you feel the love now? There are so many talented bloggers out there who have created beautiful things for Valentine’s Day. If you want to be even more inspired, follow my Valentine’s Day board on Pinterest.

Valentine Decor and Free Printable

I am really happy with how my Valentine’s Day decor turned out!

I was planning on going with just the typical red, pink, and white decor. Then, I saw my houndstooth Duck tape. Plans changed. I am so glad I added the black accents.

I have had the wreath for a few years. My mom and I made them and I still love it! I was excited to add a few of our engagement and wedding pictures to really add the love vibes. I go the red wire basket, the foam hearts, and the little white bowl from Target.

One of my favorite songs used to be “I Love You Always Forever”. I was probably 10 when it came out, but I always remember loving that song. I thought it would be fitting to make a printable inspired by that song. I accented it with my globe that I got for Christmas because the next line in the song says “Near or far, closer together” and I thought the globe was fitting.

I decided to try out the washi tape banner trend that I have seen all over the place. I love how they turned out. I made my duck tape heart banner that I am basically obsessed with too.

Houndstooth Duct Tape Valentine Garland

The time is here! Time to pull out all of the pink and red! Valentine’s Day is less than a month away! I got my  faux mantel all set up and I am excited to share with with you tomorrow. Today, I am going to show you how I made a simple Valentine garland out of one of my favorite products in the entire world, duct tape. I love duct tape crafts and bringing it in with my Valentine’s Day decor was really fun for me.

Mustache Decal Valentine Idea

Finding valentines for kids (and teachers) is hard to find! As a kid, you want your valentines to be cool! It is like everyone is judging you on how cool your valentines are. Well this valentine is sure to be a crowd favorite, especially with older kids!
valentine craft
I am kind of nerdy in love with mustaches. I don’t know why, but I love all of the mustache mania! Now your older elementary school kids and even your older kids can give their friends an awesome mustache decal that they can put on their notebooks, bikes, dad’s car, or mirrors! This is so easy to make too!
Here’s what you need…
Valentine Craft Idea
Transfer tape
Cardstock paper
Printer
Scissors
Tape
Electric craft cutter
free valentine craft
First, you’ll want to create your image on your craft cutting software (Silhouette has TONS of mustache images to choose from too). Mine is about 3×1.5 inches. Cut out as many mustaches as you need for your valentines. Put transfer tape on them and cut them apart.
printable valentine card
On Word, Photoshop, or any other word processing or image creating program, write out your valentine. Leave enough space for the decal to fit. Print them out on the cardstock.

Cut your valentines apart. A paper cutter may be a better option if you have a lot of them to cut.

Make sure your decal is going to fit in the space that you made.

Put tape on the back of your decal and stick it onto the paper!
