Leaf Covered Pumpkin Tutorial

Thanksgiving is next week? How do the holidays always seem to creep up on me every year? I love everything about this time of year… except for the snow that keeps trying to come before Thanksgiving. In my book, snow comes after Thanksgiving and leaves right after Christmas. Of course, I live in Idaho, so it usually comes before Halloween and doesn’t leave until about Easter… sucky. ANYWAYS, I made a little lovely to add to my Fall decor that I want to share with you!
I think this little guy would be oh so cute on your table as you enjoy your Thanksgiving feast. It took no time and was really inexpensive to make too. Score!
You will need…
Faux Pumpkin (I got mine on clearance at Michael’s)
Glue gun and hot glue
Leaf Garland (On sale at Michael’s)
Start by peeling off the leaves off of the plastic garland. Put hot glue on the back of a leaf and stick it to the bottom of the pumpkin. Repeat this step and work your way up the pumpkin. Be sure to mix the different styles and colors of leaves to add more dimension. Feel free to flip the leaves around in any direction to make them fit onto the pumpkin where you want them to be. Cover the entire pumpkin so that you can’t see the pumpkin at all. When you get to the stem, put the leaves all the way up to the base of the stem.
So easy! I love what a simple statement this pumpkin makes. It is a fun, unique way to marry two Fall themes together too. Happy creating!
