One goal of mine for 2017 was to make sure to do something for myself each day. I haven’t always found the time to do that while we have been transitioning as a family of four, but I definitely feel like making it a goal has been helpful and a good reminder to make myself a priority. One way that I can make myself a priority is by having a little night out and let’s be honest, the best part about going out when you have a baby is wearing something that isn’t covered in spit up!
I can’t even believe I am 31 weeks pregnant. Is this real life? If I go full term, I only have 9 weeks left. That is if I go full term! It is pretty insane to think about how much different things are this year than they were a year ago.
I was also pregnant a year ago. We were in Disneyland for Thanksgiving break and were living blissfully unaware of the life changing news that was about to come that following Monday when we learned that we had lost our baby. [Read more…]

My boots: Sold out, but similar from Cents of Style
I have had a lot of kind people ask me about my pregnancy on social media, so I thought I would just give a good ol’ update for everyone. It is crazy to think that I am 27 weeks pregnant.

Buying maternity clothes is a real struggle for me. Sometimes I feel like all of the maternity clothing companies got together and decided to price their maternity clothes double what they price their other clothing for. I really don’t own many maternity pieces, but I haven’t had a problem finding great non-maternity clothing that totally works on my ever growing belly.

Back to school season is here for good! Now moms everywhere face the same issue of having to get ready quickly so they aren’t the mom dropping their kids off while they are still in their pj’s. If you have some great go to outfits, you won’t have to worry about what you are going to put on really quick as you run out the door. Here are a few of my top tips to be able to put together some of your best outfits and nobody will have to know that you just woke up a few minutes before dropping those kids off!
Just because you are buying your kiddos back to school clothes right now, doesn’t mean you have to miss out on getting yourself a few things for this “school year” too! I love finding clothes that I can buy without making a huge investment. That is how I have always felt about Forever 21. The problem is, I’m no longer 21. I’m far closer to 30 than I am to 21. There are so many cute things they sell that I can picture a younger version of myself wearing and I had almost given up hope shopping there ever again. Then I discovered a treasure trove of Forever 21 goodness that is totally appropriate for moms who want to look fabulous, but don’t want to spend a lot of money on themselves after spending it all of their kids’ back to school needs. Here are 60 Forever 21 finds that I am totally obsessing over right now!
I will admit, I probably purchased more of these items than I care to admit but I love when I can find a great price on stylish clothes! The greatest part about all of these pieces is that they are modest too. I am a momma who can appreciate finding stylish pieces that don’t have to be altered too much in order to make them modest. I hope you can find some goodies to suit you this Fall too! There was a lot of research that went into this post and there will be affiliate links throughout this post. Please use them! It will help me justify spending all of this time (and money) researching this for you guys and I will know if it is something that I should do again in the future. Who doesn’t like doing some shopping when someone else has done all of the work for you?! [Read more…]
I like updating the contents of my closet just as much as the next fashion loving girl does, but I can’t ever seem to be able to afford all of the pieces that I want each season. I usually end up settling for a few staple pieces that I know I can style in many ways, but I can’t help but think of the clothes that “got away” when I couldn’t afford everything I wanted. That is why I love the concept of Le Tote! If you haven’t ever heard of Le Tote before, it is a website that you submit your style profile and they choose items to send to you. You get to see everything they are going to send you so that if you want to switch something before they send it, you can. You can then wear everything they send you and you are given the option of purchasing anything they sent. Along with the items, they send a bag with a prepaid label to ship the items you aren’t interested in purchasing back to them.
I know I just told you about my quest to find the perfect jeans. At the end of my quest, I discovered that the Levi’s® 711 Skinny Jeans are officially some of the best jeans I have ever tried on! I absolutely loved the fit of every wash that I tried on, but I decided to go out of my comfort zone and get a light wash. I typically go for dark washes, but I wanted to try new things and go with the light wash that is distressed. I love them! I loved hearing your feedback about the outfit that I put together before when I first got back from Macy’s with them and it sounds like a lot of you have gone and tried these jeans on for yourself!

I have a confession to make. I love black. As much as I love color, I am a true black loving girl. When I was in beauty school, the dress code was all black all of the time. I would hear girls complain about having to wear black everyday, but I didn’t mind at all. I felt like I was totally in my element. When I was put in the honor program, I got to wear black and white. I love black and white together almost as much as I love black by itself. What I am getting to is that I have always been a fan of black and no matter what time of year it is, I will be wearing black! I think there are definitely appropriate and inappropriate ways to wear black in different seasons. I want to teach you how to wear black in the spring.

Finding the perfect jeans can basically feel like an impossible task sometimes. It seems like I can’t ever find the perfect combination of fit, wash, and style. Shopping for jeans used to be one form of torture to me. I always left feeling broken and hopeless. I have always struggled to find jeans that fit my body the way I want them to fit. I know I am not alone when I say that. I am happy to report that my quest is over! I went to Macy’s and tried on the newLevi’s® 711 Skinny jeans. Levi’s Brand has always been a favorite of mine because of their iconic, classic, effortless cool style.
