Baby Routine and Scheduling Tips

When I had my first daughter, I was so sleep deprived that there are a lot of memories that seem completely dark and foggy in my brain. Those first few weeks were so hard! Thankfully my husband and I did a lot of research about baby routines and we learned enough that we were finally able to have a good sleeper who was on more of a schedule and it was beautiful! Now that I am starting over with a new baby, I decided to start with those schedules right from the beginning and it has already led to me getting more sleep than I did the first time around. I want to share a few of the baby routine and scheduling tips that I have learned in hopes that it will lead to a happier baby and more sleep for you!

Baby Routine and Scheduling Tips on www.girllovesglam.com

Let me start by saying that I am no parenting expert! What I say isn’t gospel truth by any means, but these are just a few tips that really have worked for me. I feel guilty keeping them to myself if they could help at least one mom out there get a little more peace (and sleep).  [Read more…]

I was given these items to review, but was in no other way compensated. Scroll to the bottom for a special 20% off code to Joules!

You know when you look at a store’s selection and think, “they just get me!”? That is exactly what happened when I was introduced to Joules while I was visiting NYC this summer. I met a couple of the ladies behind the brand and instantly fell in love with the pieces they had brought to share at the event.

Life is an Adventure

I wouldn’t ever call myself the adventurous type. I like safety and I like the security of knowing what is going on around me. That applies is basically all parts of my life except for my love of roller coasters. Roller coasters are one of the few places I feel like I can let go a little bit and enjoy the adventure. I thought that I could pretty much control the way my life worked… then I became a mom.

Being a mother has completely made me rethink the way I have to “plan” my life. Although Harper was totally planned, she decided to join our family by surprise when she came four weeks early! She literally started her life by surprising us and hasn’t stopped since. She forces me to [Read more…]

Life Just Got Easier

I’ve partnered with Chick-fil-A to create this post! Enjoy!

Don’t you love it when you find out that something that you already need to do can get easier? This is how I felt when I learned that ordering groceries online is possible now. My mind was blown once again when I learned about the new Chick-fil-A One app.

Chick Fil A App Girl Loves Glam

Chick-fil-A is already a family favorite and definitely a go-to restaurant when we are on-the-go or dinner plans slipped my mind. Now with the Chick-fil-A One app, I can order my food from home or anywhere else I might be running around that day. I simply order from the full menu on the app, pay on there, and let Chick-fil-A know when I am there to get my food! I can’t wait to use the curbside delivery option with this app. There is nothing that can ruin the productive flow of the day like a long line to get lunch. This app totally lets you skip the lines when you dine in or get it to go with curbside delivery.  [Read more…]

Social Lunch for Moms

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Clorox Company . All opinions are 100% mine.

I think every mom has the realization at some point that they don’t have much adult conversation throughout the day. As much as we love our children, interacting with other adults can be a huge sense of relief and a nice break from the regular conversations that we can have each day with our kids. The problem is that it is really hard to find a time to get together with other moms. It seems like it is nearly impossible to find a time to get together without kids. That is why I decided to host a fun lunch for moms that kids were also invited to. We set up a table outside for the kids and had plenty of things to keep them busy so that the moms could eat, enjoy conversations with other adults, and even get a little time to pamper themselves.

It sounds a little too ideal, right? I am happy to report that there were only a few tears shed (by my own child) but it was an overall success. The kids really enjoyed spending time together, so we had very few major interruptions to keep us from enjoying our time together as women.  [Read more…]

Remembering to Create Time for Yourself this Mother’s Day

I remember hearing women say that they hated Mother’s Day. As a teenager, the thought of having a day to celebrate the woman seemed like something really special. Now that I am a mother, I can kind of understand where these women were coming from. Mother’s Day can be hard. You see the tributes others make to their moms, and while it’s never something you should ever do, I can’t help but compare myself to the others.

I often have to remind myself that we are all just trying our best to be the mother that our kids need. Mother’s Day isn’t the time to tear yourself down. It’s a day to both celebrate the role of motherhood, and feel celebrated by the ones you care for the most! It’s a day to both treat, and feel treated by others. This Mother’s Day take time to yourself somehow. This may be as big as going to get a manicure and pedicure or as small as just taking a long shower! I have been using the Garnier® Whole Blends™ Refreshing Hair Care with Green Apple and Green Tea Extracts products and they make me feel like I am in a spa every time I wash my hair! The new Garnier® Whole Blends™ is a full range of naturally inspired hair care shampoo, conditioner, and treatments. You can find the right blend for your hair care or hair type!

Let’s face it, we all have our good days and our bad days, but we try our best and that should be celebrated! So instead of thinking so literally when you think about creating that picture perfect Mother’s Day, think about truly celebrating all that is motherhood. The good and the bad. Because even the bad makes us grow.

Creating the picture perfect Mother’s Day is up to you! Have a happy attitude, do something for yourself, and remember just how beautiful motherhood truly is.

Now for a chance to win a $100 Visa gift card, tell me, how will you celebrate Mother’s Day this year?

Motherhood: Bringing out the Bold

I’m sharing #LISTERINE in my life as part of a LISTERINE® sponsored series for Socialstars™

I have never had to question how my mom feels about me. What I may have referred to as helicopter parenting as a teenager, I know realize was just my mom’s love and concern for me. I remember thinking that I wouldn’t grow up to be a helicopter mom and now I look in the mirror and see a helicopter mom in the full flesh.

Busy Mom Life on www.girllovesglam.com

Honestly though, being a helicopter mom isn’t as bad as it sounds. I like to let my daughter experience life, take risks, and even get some bruises along the way. My definition of a helicopter mom is the type of mom who wants to be involved in their child’s life. They want to hover over their lives enough to know what is going on, enough to let their child know they are interested, but far enough away to let the child learn and grow on their own. I know that isn’t everyone’s definition, but that is how I see it. [Read more…]

The Mom’s Guide to a Spring Outfit

Modest Spring Outfit Idea on www.girllovesglam.com

You know when you are walking through the grocery store and you see a mom pushing a shopping cart and she is wearing stiletto heels, her outfit looks slightly uncomfortable, and she looks like it took her hours to get ready? Or the mom who you also see in the same store who is wearing her pajamas at 3 pm? I admit I have been both of those moms at the grocery store. When I first became a mom, I had a hard time really defining my style. I wanted to dress a little more maturely than I had before, but I didn’t want to dress like a soccer mom or a frumpy mom. After a lot of trial and error, I came up with the perfect outfit equation for myself.

Finding Stylish and Practical Style

This post contains affiliate links. Thank you for supporting them and helping keep Girl Loves Glam a reality.

I can honestly say that I have never taken to the internet to see how to wear a specific style of clothing. I have always just kind of trusted my gut and dressed in a way that makes me feel confident, but also fits my lifestyle. I can’t help but notice the amount of pictures I see on social media of moms wearing insanely high heels who are chasing after their kids. That just doesn’t seem authentic in any way. I can’t relate to that at all. I love a good heel, but it has got to be practical too. I would call my overall style practical and stylish. I wear things that I feel good in, but I can also play on a playground in my clothes.

What I Wore: Mother Daughter Date

Simply Sage Market Summer Fashion for Mom and Preschooler on www.girllovesglam.com

This summer will be the year mark of when we moved to this area. It has been an interesting move for us. We moved from a city of about 60,000 people to a town of about 8,000 people. Our old house was out in the country and we felt SO far away from everything! We were actually only 15 minutes away from just about everything we could need. Here, we drive over an hour to get to Costco, Target, etc. It was been kind of a crazy change for us! For several months, I kind of pouted about it. I missed my old life, old friends, and being close to my family. It wasn’t until [Read more…]
