Simple, Purposeful, and Trustworthy

I am sharing NUTRO™ in my life as part of a NUTRO™ sponsored series.

Simple, purposeful, and trustworthy aren’t really words that you would typically associate with dog food. Most of the time when I would purchase food for my pooch, I would focus a lot more on what was convenient for me and less on what would be best for my dog.

It wasn’t until I made healthy changes for my own diet and I took a step back and realized that my dog was aging that I kind of had a wakeup call. I needed to be feeding my dog better than I had been.

Our Sadie dog was our first baby and I want to keep her around for as long as we can. I want to do what I can to keep her healthy. That is why I really appreciate the work that Nutro puts into creating a product that I know I can trust, like the NUTRO™ Wholesome Essentials Healthy Weight dog food. [Read more…]

Loveland Living Planet Aquarium

This post is part of a sponsored campaign as part of the Mom It Forward Influencer Network.

If you have followed along on my social accounts, you have probably seen by now that I am a single mom for the summer. We made a pretty huge life decision and are living apart for the summer so that my husband can go back to school and change career fields entirely. Living 5 hours apart isn’t easy, but it makes the weekends that we do get to see each other that much sweeter! We love finding special things to do as a family when we are all together. One thing that we tried recently was the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium.

Before coming to the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium, I always thought it would be just a bunch of fish tanks. It was so much more than that! [Read more…]

Healthy, Happy Pets

I’m sharing #NUTRO in my life as part of a NUTRO sponsored series for Socialstars™

I truly believe in caring for my own body. I think it is so important as a mom, to give myself a little time each day. It can be difficult at times to find the time but if it is just doing my makeup or getting some exercise, finding time for myself each day is something that I really try to prioritize. When I make time for myself, I am able to stress less about all of the crazy things that go on each day and just enjoy the chaos.

Getting the Family Involved with Housework

I think we live in a time where homemaking has been looked down upon and I don’t think it should be that way at all! Making a house a home is something that is something that not just anyone can do. As I have grown as an adult, I have realized just how important homemaking is for my family. We have created an environment where we all help with the homemaking in order to create a home where we can feel joy! I absolutely love that Mrs. Meyer’s® Brand embraces homemaking to make products that turn homemaking into more than a duty, but more of a creative endeavor.

Because we strive to all take responsibilities in our home, it leaves more time for all of us to be together. I am not left with all of the cleaning responsibilities just because I am the mom. I think that by having my family involved with cleaning has also help give them a sense of pride in what our home looks like and how our home feels. It also has made them more responsible for the messes they make. [Read more…]

How to start running

If you have followed my story for a while, you may remember when I first started running about 2 years ago.

How to Start Running

I had NEVER, ever been a runner before. In fact, I would have full on asthma attacks when I would try to run. I just classified myself as a “non runner” and moved on. Then one day I just decided to try jogging a little. I would jog until I couldn’t jog anymore and then walk, then jog again. This would only be about 1-2 miles and I had to take lots of walking breaks. Eventually, I worked my way up to my very first 5k that happened on my 27th birthday. [Read more…]

Mother Knows Best!

It is kind of hard to believe that Mother’s Day is this weekend! This year is already flying at an impressive speed for me. One major reason for my time flying by has been the addition of Miss Zoey into our family. I am honored to have Hyland’s sponsoring this post.

It has been five years since I had a baby, so although I have done this all before, it was all pretty new to me again! Babies are a lot of work, but they bring so much joy into a home. When I would have late nights, early mornings, or just would struggle with the adjustment of having another child in our home, I always knew that I could rely on my mom.  [Read more…]

It’s Important to Be Nice: Be Kind Outfit

This post contains affiliate links.

I remember my mom teaching me from a very young age, just how important it was to be nice. I vividly remember my mom taking a friend home from a play date because I wasn’t treating my friend nicely. I remember standing in the garage, screaming in tears as I watched my mom drive away to take my friend home. I will never forget that moment, but it taught me a very valuable lesson that day. It is important to be nice!

I absolutely adore the “Be series” shirts that Cents of Style offers. They are full of positive affirmations, like this Be Kind shirt. For me, this shirt is the most relevant for the phase of life that I am in. If there is absolutely nothing else that I could teach my daughters, I want them to be taught that it is important to be kind. Being nice to people doesn’t mean that you get walked all over. Some of the most kind people I know are also some of the strongest people I know!  [Read more…]

Baby Routine and Scheduling Tips

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #FirstMomentsMadeSimple #ForBetterBeginnings #MomsFirsts #CollectiveBias

When I had my first daughter, I was so sleep deprived that there are a lot of memories that seem completely dark and foggy in my brain. Those first few weeks were so hard! Thankfully my husband and I did a lot of research about baby routines and we learned enough that we were finally able to have a good sleeper who was on more of a schedule and it was beautiful! Now that I am starting over with a new baby, I decided to start with those schedules right from the beginning and it has already led to me getting more sleep than I did the first time around. I want to share a few of the baby routine and scheduling tips that I have learned in hopes that it will lead to a happier baby and more sleep for you!

Baby Routine and Scheduling Tips on www.girllovesglam.com

Let me start by saying that I am no parenting expert! What I say isn’t gospel truth by any means, but these are just a few tips that really have worked for me. I feel guilty keeping them to myself if they could help at least one mom out there get a little more peace (and sleep).  [Read more…]

Forgiving as a Little Child

When I would read scriptures that referred to becoming like a little child, it understood what they were saying, but they took on a whole new meaning as a parent.

Before becoming a mom, I had plans of being the mom who didn’t ever raise her voice and always had a level head when her children were acting out. I think those are probably the ideals that most of us get when we dream of what our future with children will be like.

Forgiveness like the #PrinceofPeace on www.girllovesglam.com

Unfortunately, those ideals aren’t always a reality. Once I became a mom to a little girl who had opinions of her own, I realized that I am only human and can’t always be the ideal mom that I hoped of being. I make a lot of mistakes as a mom. [Read more…]

Isn’t it crazy to look back at the end of the year and think about all of the things that have happened in that calendar year? This year has been a roller coaster of emotions, but I am really grateful for where I am today and where the many trials have brought me and have taught me along the way.
