I was given the Boon CARE Health & Grooming Kit as part of a sponsored post. I instantly fell in love with this product! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

It has been 5 years since I have had a newborn, so these past six weeks have been both rewarding and challenging as I remember all of the things newborns need and do! I have been blown away by the incredible products that I have discovered since the last time I had a baby. I got rid of a lot of old things and purchased new products that would be better this time. One thing I really wanted was a kit that would give me the different hygiene and care tools I would need for a baby. That is why I instantly fell in love with Boon CARE!

Whole30 Breakfast Sausage Skillet Hash

We are on day 16 of Whole30 and I must say, Whole30 has been a much more positive experience this time around than it was for me last year! There are a lot of reasons for this, but one of them is that I am much more comfortable with Whole30 compliant foods and feel comfortable enough to even adapt other recipes or create recipes of my own! This Whole30 Breakfast Sausage Skillet Hash might be my favorite creation to date. It is delicious! For those of you who aren’t following Whole30 standards, it is still really good!

This dish is incredibly filling and really is a great way to start your morning. For me, the sausage in this meal was a really nice break from the other Whole30 breakfasts that we typically have. This gave a little more normalcy to my new diet. The flavors all blend together so nicely and create a perfect breakfast combination! [Read more…]

Home Gym with Little Space and Little Money

“This post is sponsored by Kohl’s.  I was paid for this post and received the included fitness equipment as compensation.”

Exercise has become a huge part of our lives as a family in the past year. My husband lost over 50 lbs this past year, ran a half marathon, and has completely changed the way he lives his life. This has really rubbed off on the rest of our family as well. Although I have always loved exercising, I haven’t ever been great about focusing on eating healthy as well. Now that I am almost done with this pregnancy, I am already planning my eating and exercise plan for once my baby is born.

We decided to create a little home gym so that we could save money on gym memberships and still be able to get our exercise with our new baby at home. We had very little space and little money to create a home gym, but I love our little area that we created!

Fighting Sickness

I’m sharing #Ricola in my life as part of a sponsored series for Socialstars™

I’m not sure if it is because of the junk food I ate over the holidays, the pregnancy, or the weather, but I have been fighting a lot of sicknesses lately. Thankfully I haven’t had many places I needed to be, since I am just waiting around for this baby to come. The hard part has been knowing that I need to be getting my sleep before I have a newborn, but my body not allowing me to get the sleep I need because I have been so sick!

5 Simple Tips for Healthy Eating this Holiday Season

Many of you have made comments about my husband’s noticeable weight loss that has occurred this year. He has lost over 50 lbs since May! While I have been been putting on the baby weight, he has been focusing on his health in a major way and has lost more weight than our four year old weighs!

Before and After 50 lb weight loss

One of the things that Dave has really changed has been how he eats. Going from someone who drank a lot of Dr. Pepper everyday to someone who loves to stay home and make delicious, healthy food is a pretty huge transformation itself!

He recently started a blog called Run.Eat.Poop.Repeat. where he is documenting his experience as he continues to strive to live a healthy lifestyle. He offered to share some of his tips to eating healthy during the holiday season for all of you! Although he hasn’t experienced a Thanksgiving or Christmas with his new, healthy lifestyle, he has endured anniversaries, birthdays, etc throughout the year that he has really learned from. If you are interested in following along with his journey and getting more tips, you can follow his blog. He would LOVE the support!

Introducing more Vitamin C into my diet

I’m sharing #Ricola in my life as part of a sponsored series for Socialstars™

Last time I went to my doctor, he told me that pregnant women have the tendency of getting sick during the fall and winter months. He suggested drinking a lot of water and making sure that I had plenty of vitamin c in my diet. I have really taken that to heart and have tried to increase my water intake and vitamin c in my diet to keep the sicknesses that are lingering around far away from me!

You have probably noticed that I am a big fan of the LISTERINE® Bring Out the Bold campaign. I just love it when companies encourage people to be the best versions of themselves! The group of people who take the challenge to live their life boldly are part of what LISTERINE calls the Bold Percent.

One person that I definitely think is part of the Bold Percent is my husband, Dave. Many of you have commented when he shows up on my social media channels because he has lost so much weight.

If you have followed along on social media, you probably know that I have been at a maker summit for the past few days. It has been such a neat experience and has been really fun to be able to experience it with some of my closest friends.

Teaching Kids to Love Themselves

I’m sharing #LISTERINE in my life as part of a LISTERINE® sponsored series for Socialstars™ #Sonicare

As you may recall, I touched a bit about the weight of responsibility that I have felt over teaching my child to be confident and bold in who she is. It was one thing that I never thought about when I looked into the future and thought about what life might be like as mother. Although she is only four years old, I want my daughter to grow up loving herself from the beginning so that she doesn’t have to create that self love later on.

Teaching Kids Healthy Bold Habits on www.girllovesglam.com

Today she was given the opportunity to give a little talk in church about treating our bodies well. I had helped her get the talk ready and I truly hope that the message came across to her as we practiced and as she spoke today. The message she shared was that she was born prematurely and wasn’t a healthy baby but through the help of the NICU nurses, she was able to come home as a healthy baby. She had to continue to work to be healthy so that she could grow up to be the healthy little girl that she is today. She talked about how our bodies are gifts and that we need to treat them with kindness in both how we treat them and how we speak about them. Although it was just a little talk given to small children by a four year old, I hope the spirit of the message came across clearly.

It is so important to love ourselves! [Read more…]
