It’s Thursday! Time for another Throwback Thursday, blog post edition. Today features one of the easiest tutorials I have ever posted on my site. This leaf covered pumpkin fall decor is not only easy to create, but it is down right adorable too. I love that it can be used both as Halloween and Fall decor. I don’t have to pack it away once Halloween is over. I really want to find different varieties of leaves and pumpkins to add to my collection as well!
I grew up going to a church Halloween party that was always a highlight of the season. Everyone got into the Halloween spirit, but one family would steal the show every year with their themed costumes. I knew that when I had a family of my own, I wanted to have a family theme for as long as my kids would participate! As soon as I became a mom, those dreams became a reality. I LOVE family Halloween costumes! I have searched and found some of my favorite Halloween costumes online, including some looks from my own Halloweens past.
I just love to see what families choose to be together for Halloween. I think you can definitely tell when the kids have a say and when the choice was mostly made by the parents. No matter who chooses, I love any family who will dress up together! I hope you get some family Halloween costume inspiration! [Read more…]
It is Throwback Thursday again! Today I am bringing you one of my all time favorite posts from the past. The Black Light Lemonade Recipe! The great part is that it only takes two ingredients and it is a huge hit at parties!
It is officially the time of year that I look forward to each and every year. When I first started making my family costumes, I didn’t mean to create the no sew theme that I did. But I am sure glad that I didn’t start out by sewing every costume because that would have never lasted! If you are new around these parts, this is the 5th year that I have created a new sew costume for my daughter. We end up having a family theme with all of us, but I usually just share the tutorial for her costume. I will be sharing our entire family look later, but today I am excited to show you my very own little Ninja Turtle! Here is my DIY No Sew Ninja Turtle Costume for Girls!
This costume was not only easy to make, but it was so fun too! The best part was definitely putting it on my daughter and seeing her instantly turn into a ninja. Its like she literally thought she was a Ninja Turtle!
Obviously this costume would be pretty easy to turn into a boy’s costume as well. Just don’t include the tutu and the sparkly fabric and you are good to go! Just follow along with the instructions below to create your very own little half shell hero! [Read more…]
I’ve partnered with NESTLE® PURE LIFE® to create this post! Enjoy!
As you probably already know, my family has made some pretty big changes in the past year. We have wanted to be healthy for quite a while, but it wasn’t until the past year that we really took that goal seriously and made some major changes for our family. It has been a life changing experience and I am so grateful that we are doing it together! One thing that can be really difficult when you are trying to live a healthy lifestyle is celebrating holidays. One holiday that can be a major problem is Halloween. The entire holiday is centered around candy!
I love the idea of having a non-candy option to hand out on Halloween, or to take to class parties! There are many families trying to live more nutritious lives and many children who suffer from allergies that prevent them from enjoying Halloween candy. Handing out an item that isn’t candy can be a really great option. NESTLE® PURE LIFE® “Share-A-Scare™” Halloween Bottles are a perfect non-candy option! They are small enough that they can fit in little hands and they have adorable Halloween images on them!

I just love this time of year! I love seeing what Halloween costumes are popular and what families choose to dress up as together. The problem is that Halloween costumes can get pretty expensive! Even when you choose to DIY a costume, you could be spending more than you were anticipating on a Halloween costume. I found several great options to have both an awesome costume and still be able to have some room in your wallet. Here are some great, inexpensive Halloween costume ideas!
I am excited to start doing something new around these parts each Thursday! It is going to be Throwback Thursday! There are so many of my old posts that have been lost and forgotten because of bad photography or just that they are really old posts, so I decided to bring one back from the dead each Thursday so that many of you who are new can kind of catch up! Since we are right in the middle of Halloween and Fall decor season, I decided to start things off with one of my favorite Fall projects… Easy Rosette Pumpkin Pillow Tutorial!
I have realized as I decorate for holidays that I really like non traditional holiday decor. If there are Halloween decorations in a store that are made with colors besides just orange and black, I always find myself gravitated to them. I love the different perspective that non traditional colors can bring to a holiday. This year is the first year that I have had the opportunity to decorate for Halloween in our current home because we moved almost exactly a year ago and the last thing I was about to do was decorate for Halloween when I was just trying to get my life out of boxes. It has been really fun to decorate this year and to take out old decor that I forgot that I even owned! One spot in my house that I knew I wouldn’t have decor for was my coffee table. We have a tray that goes on there that usually has succulents in it but I wanted something a little more festive for Halloween. I knew that I didn’t want it to be totally traditional because my living room is such a bright and cheery space.
The perfect solution was to make these adorable confetti pumpkins!
I love how much color these pumpkins bring to my Halloween decor but I think the best part about these is the fact that they are INSANELY easy to make! They are so easy to make, my four year old helped me with most of it! [Read more…]
Delicious Monster Rice Krispie Treats that will be perfect for your Halloween parties!
I love that Halloween kind of kicks off the beginning of the time of year where people enjoy hosting events at their houses. In fact, 34 percent of people attend or throw Halloween parties. Halloween parties are just the best because you can dress up and eat delicious treats. Hershey’s candy is basically a Halloween staple at our house! Hershey’s helps families harness the magic of Halloween by sharing new and classic treats that help transform any Halloween party from normal to paranormal! Hershey has seasonal flavors that include chocolate assortment variety bags with a little something for everyone, Reese’s Peanut Butter Pumpkins, Kit Kat® bars, and Cadbury Screme Eggs! Yes, you heard that right. Cadbury Creme Eggs aren’t just an Easter staple anymore! My candy dreams completely came true when I discovered that Hershey’s Candy Corn bars existed. It is basically the Hershey’s Cookies n Cream bars, but instead of the cookie bits, they are candy corn bits. They are dreamy! I just knew that I needed to incorporate them into a recipe somehow, so I made a delicious chocolate candy corn recipe and some adorable Frankenstein monster goodie bags to stuff the popcorn (or more candy) in!
First up, the recipe for this delicious Halloween popcorn! If your pants don’t fit after making this, I take no responsibility. This popcorn is just that good!
For this recipe, you need… [Read more…]
