Whole30 Breakfast Sausage Skillet Hash

We are on day 16 of Whole30 and I must say, Whole30 has been a much more positive experience this time around than it was for me last year! There are a lot of reasons for this, but one of them is that I am much more comfortable with Whole30 compliant foods and feel comfortable enough to even adapt other recipes or create recipes of my own! This Whole30 Breakfast Sausage Skillet Hash might be my favorite creation to date. It is delicious! For those of you who aren’t following Whole30 standards, it is still really good!

This dish is incredibly filling and really is a great way to start your morning. For me, the sausage in this meal was a really nice break from the other Whole30 breakfasts that we typically have. This gave a little more normalcy to my new diet. The flavors all blend together so nicely and create a perfect breakfast combination! [Read more…]

Introducing more Vitamin C into my diet

I’m sharing #Ricola in my life as part of a sponsored series for Socialstars™

Last time I went to my doctor, he told me that pregnant women have the tendency of getting sick during the fall and winter months. He suggested drinking a lot of water and making sure that I had plenty of vitamin c in my diet. I have really taken that to heart and have tried to increase my water intake and vitamin c in my diet to keep the sicknesses that are lingering around far away from me!

Ever since I started looking into doing Whole30, I have been a lot more aware of the ingredients in my foods. Before starting Whole30, I was introduced to Silver Fern Brand and their Paka Baking Mixes. I was instantly impressed with how delicious each of the baked goodies looked, but what surprised me the most is that these products weren’t the unhealthy versions of these treats that I am used to. Paka Baking Mixes are full of protein, fiber, low in sugar, and don’t have anything artificial in them!

Easy P.F. Chang’s Dinner at Home

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of P.F. Chang’s Home Menu for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Working from home can be a major blessing and a curse. I feel like it is a constant battle to try and keep everything balanced. There are many occasions that after I have cleaned, worked, and played with a 4 year old all day, I realize that I have completely forgotten about getting dinner ready. The struggle is real, people! A lot of times, we end up eating out. It is fun to eat out, but it can also get very expensive. That is why I love having some quick dinner options ready to go for the days that I just forget!

Fruit Salad Honey Lime Sugar Syrup

My little brother got married in June. At his wedding luncheon, we were served a fruit salad with our meal. The fruit was literally the most delicious fruit I had ever tasted. It was so sweet and so good! While I was eating it, I noticed that there was a little syrup of some sort on it. I knew that that was what was making the fruit taste so good! After the luncheon, we were cleaning up and one of the caterers was cleaning up too. We complimented her on how delicious it all was, but we couldn’t stop talking about the fruit! She mentioned that they used a honey lime sugar syrup over all of it that made it taste even more delicious than the fruit already is naturally.

I needed that recipe! I came home and searched high and low online, but had no luck at finding a recipe. So, I made my own! It isn’t exactly the same as theirs, but it is pretty darn good.

Chewy Thin Mint Chocolate Cookies

Don’t let Santa or your friends go hungry with sugar cravings this holiday season! I am a lover of mint chocolate, but my problem is that I don’t like chocolate chips. I have to find other ways to enjoy mint chocolate goodness besides that traditional mint chocolate chip ice cream or something. One thing I absolutely love are thin mint cookies. They just speak to my very mint chocolate loving soul. Sometimes I want a soft cookie though, and those thin mints just don’t have anything soft about them!

I decided to take matters into my own hands and make my own version of thin mint chocolate cookies that are CHEWY!

Besides the fact that these cookies are absolutely delicious, want to know the greatest part of all? They are CRAZY easy to make! They are made with cake mix! [Read more…]

Labor Day is the unofficial beginning of Autumn and I am totally embracing it! Bring on the layers! Bring on the Fall goodies!

Since I have been also trying to eat a lot healthier, I knew that I needed to find a good alternative to the regular Autumn goodies that I usually pig out on. I found a few recipes for pumpkin cookies online, but none that had chocolate chips in it that didn’t also have a bunch of weirdo, random recipes in it too. I don’t buy weird health stuff.
