We have lived in this house for about a year and a half now. That isn’t incredibly long, but most of our decor has followed us from house to house. A lot of the decor in my house is getting a little boring for me and I need to give each room a little decor refresh. The first room that I decided to do that with was my bedroom. My room is typically the last room that gets decorated, but I wanted to give it a little more of a tranquil feel, while still keeping it fresh and fun! The Annie Selke Spring Catalog totally inspired me when I was planning out the decor for my bedroom.
It’s Thursday! Time for another Throwback Thursday, blog post edition. Today features one of the easiest tutorials I have ever posted on my site. This leaf covered pumpkin fall decor is not only easy to create, but it is down right adorable too. I love that it can be used both as Halloween and Fall decor. I don’t have to pack it away once Halloween is over. I really want to find different varieties of leaves and pumpkins to add to my collection as well!

I have been able to keep my decorating sanity with a hammer and nails and of course some Command Strips too, because heaven knows, I am obsessed with those things.
Our bedroom felt like it needed something funky that would make it feel like our own space. Of course there is the option of a traditional gallery wall, but why go traditional, when there is a corner just begging to turn into something more?
Since we moved into our townhouse, I knew I wanted to turn my daughter’s room into a completely new space from what it was in our house. She is growing up! She isn’t a baby anymore, but she also isn’t a big girl yet so I wanted to be sure to create a room that is fun and soft like a nursery, but has character like a grown up room.
I could just squeal every time I walk into this room! I absolutely love how it turned out. I knew that I wanted to stick with the colorful theme and include all of her favorite things within the decor. She absolutely loves princesses, so I decided to include crowns and princess decor throughout the room, without getting too cheesy. She also is obsessed with balloons! I mean, what little kid doesn’t love balloons? [Read more…]
