Waterfall Braid for Curly Hair

No, you shouldn’t go chasin’ waterfalls, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t put one in your hair! Waterfall braids are so incredibly beautiful on all types of hair, but my favorite is definitely on curly hair. I get asked A LOT about my daughter’s hair when I do it with a waterfall braid, so I decided to make a video with step by step instructions on how to recreate a waterfall braid for curly hair!

This tutorial and hairstyle will totally work for straight hair too, you probably will just want to do the braid when the hair is dry. If the hair is straight, but it tends to fall out of braids easily, try braiding it while it is wet and see if that helps! [Read more…]

Weekly videos are back for 2017 and boy do I have some fun content in store for you! I had a lot of requests for more hairstyle videos, especially videos with hairstyles for little girls. I listened and am sharing the first of many little girl hairstyles that will be coming your way this year! The first little girl hairstyle I am sharing is actually a really fun one because it is mature enough looking that girls (or women) of any age could really wear this hairstyle as well! The hairstyle is a gorgeous braided flower little girl hairstyle!

This hairstyle is a favorite at our house because it makes my daughter feel fancy on her days when she decides she wants to be extra fancy (because that seems to be nearly everyday!) and this hairstyle is easy enough to do on a wiggling preschooler. [Read more…]

Festive Party Hairstyles

I love holiday parties of any kind, but I think the reason why I love them so much is that it gives me an excuse to dress up a little bit. I don’t go to any fancy parties, but I like spending a little extra time on my look when I am going to a party because it makes me feel festive and excited for the party! I created two simple hairstyles that would be great for any festive party you plan to attend, or really just any day you want to try a fun hairstyle!

Both of these looks are really easy to create! I love that one has a more voluminous, messy look and the other one is quite straight and sleek so that you can choose the one that best fits your personal style. [Read more…]

Pulled Back Fishtail Braid

I have naturally curly hair, but wear it straightened out most of the time. When I straighten my hair out, I am basically committing that I am not going to wash my hair for a few days because straightening my entire head everyday is so bad on my hair. It is good for me to have a few hairstyles that I know would look good on my 2nd or 3rd day after straightening my hair, without getting out the curling wand or flat iron again. I love the look of fishtail braids, but don’t necessarily love the look on me when all of my hair is pulled back into one. I decided to have the best of both worlds by keeping my hair down and doing a fishtail braid as well! It takes about five minutes and adds some sass to a boring hair day.

I just can’t get enough of my Fall accessories. I love them all! Every once and a while, I get a crazy idea that I can’t get out of my brain and that’s exactly what happened when I thought of this crazy chunky braided scarf.

DIY Chunky Braided Scarf Tutorial on www.girllovesglam.com

Here is the craziest part. I made this in June! Yes, you heard me right… JUNE! Thankfully this crazy idea came just in time for when Jo-Ann stores asked me to be a part of their Fall look book. It was a perfect fit! The thing I love most about this scarf is that it looks like a cross between macrame and crochet, but it is neither! I don’t know how to do either of those things, but I CAN braid! This takes a lot of yarn, but it is super easy to make. To make your own, you need… [Read more…]
