One goal of mine for 2017 was to make sure to do something for myself each day. I haven’t always found the time to do that while we have been transitioning as a family of four, but I definitely feel like making it a goal has been helpful and a good reminder to make myself a priority. One way that I can make myself a priority is by having a little night out and let’s be honest, the best part about going out when you have a baby is wearing something that isn’t covered in spit up!

During the winter, there are few things I would rather do than go on a beach vacation! I have several friends who have been doing just that and it has given me serious wanderlust. Soon, I’ll be planning a trip that will involve the beach and I’m getting really excited about it! As much as I love spending time on the banks of the lakes nearby, there is nothing like soaking in the hot sun while enjoying the ocean waves.
There are a few clothing items that I can’t seem to live without when I visit the beach. [Read more…]
Isn’t it crazy to look back at the end of the year and think about all of the things that have happened in that calendar year? This year has been a roller coaster of emotions, but I am really grateful for where I am today and where the many trials have brought me and have taught me along the way.
The year started with a rocky beginning as we were still very much in the middle of our miscarriage. It was followed by [Read more…]
I can’t even believe I am 31 weeks pregnant. Is this real life? If I go full term, I only have 9 weeks left. That is if I go full term! It is pretty insane to think about how much different things are this year than they were a year ago.
I was also pregnant a year ago. We were in Disneyland for Thanksgiving break and were living blissfully unaware of the life changing news that was about to come that following Monday when we learned that we had lost our baby. [Read more…]

My boots: Sold out, but similar from Cents of Style
I have had a lot of kind people ask me about my pregnancy on social media, so I thought I would just give a good ol’ update for everyone. It is crazy to think that I am 27 weeks pregnant.
You may have been living under a rock if you haven’t ever seen a version of a swing dress on the internet. They are SO popular right now! If you haven’t ever worn one, I will tell you why they are so popular… they are like wearing a nightgown! I own two swing dresses with short sleeves, but I wanted to add a long sleeved swing dress to my closet too.
I LOVE this dress! My body seems to carry pregnancy weight in my arms and in my bottom and when I can kind of hide that, I am appreciative! I love that the long sleeves allow me to cover up my arms so that I don’t have to worry about being self conscious about them. [Read more…]
I was given these items to review, but was in no other way compensated. Scroll to the bottom for a special 20% off code to Joules!
You know when you look at a store’s selection and think, “they just get me!”? That is exactly what happened when I was introduced to Joules while I was visiting NYC this summer. I met a couple of the ladies behind the brand and instantly fell in love with the pieces they had brought to share at the event.
Joules is a British brand that designs clothing for the entire family! They carry footwear and accessories as well. They are even known to be worn by the royal family themselves!

Buying maternity clothes is a real struggle for me. Sometimes I feel like all of the maternity clothing companies got together and decided to price their maternity clothes double what they price their other clothing for. I really don’t own many maternity pieces, but I haven’t had a problem finding great non-maternity clothing that totally works on my ever growing belly.
I can’t even tell you how much I LOOOOOVE it when I learn about shops who do what they can to make a difference. I love it even more when that shop is started by a friend and their shop supports something I believe in so much. That is exactly what happened when Carissa Miss started her shop.
The Carissa Miss shop is full of modest dresses that Carissa designed herself. Every piece is perfect. I own two dresses and they are both absolute favorites of mine. I am wearing her Kellie Baseball Tee dress as I write this very post! Each piece is handmade and very high quality as well. You can customize the dresses if you need to as well by ordering them as a custom listing. If you are really tall or really short and need a custom length, that is totally something she can do. She also offers nursing friendly dresses! Guys, let’s just take a moment for THAT! [Read more…]
