So why say goodbye to this summer’s hottest goo, when you can give it away to your trick or treaters or at a classroom party this Halloween? These Halloween slime jars are PERFECT non-candy handouts that you can give. Simple Printable Service Project for Kids

Tracking Pixel
We have loved Mickey and the Roaster Racers literally since the very first episode aired. That is why I am so excited to have Disney Junior sponsoring this post! My daughter loves that all of her favorite Mickey Mouse characters are on a new show and loves each of their cars. She has actually learned quite a bit about geography as the Roadster Racers travel the world for their races on each episode. I really like the Happy Helpers segments with Minnie and Daisy. They show Minnie and Daisy as they help different people in various situations as they learn new skills along the way. It inspired me to create a little Happy Helpers service project race for kids to participate in!

I love the idea of teaching children to perform acts of service, without any rewards attached to them. If they are treating it like a race based off of one of their favorite shows, it makes it even more enjoyable! I wanted to make each service activity something that could be done by a variety of ages and made it a printable list so you can easily print it and get serving! [Read more…]

Cars 3 Coloring Pages, Activities, and Recipes

When we were preparing to go to Disneyland two years ago, I realized that my daughter had never seen the Cars movie. Knowing that we would be spending time in Cars Land, I wanted to prepare her so that she would know what she was seeing at Cars Land. I had her watch the Cars movie and she fell in love instantly! She immediately wanted to watch Cars 2 and has been watching those two movies on repeat for the past 2 years. We were more than just a little excited when we learned about Cars 3!

A few weeks ago, I surprised my daughter by taking her to the Cars 3 Road to the Races Tour. I surprised her by giving her one of the brand new Cars 3 LEGO Junior sets. I gave it to her and told her that she needed them to play with on our road trip to this fun event. I am SO sad because I took the cutest pictures of her when I gave her the LEGO goodies and told her, but the pictures were lost somehow. Just imagine pretty much the most animated 5 year old hearing just about the best news she has ever heard, then times that by about 10! She was SO excited!  [Read more…]

Moana Party Games and Printable Bingo

My daughter’s Moana birthday party luau was such a fun party to plan! It was fun to be able to plan activities that were character themed, but also plan luau activities that would be new to a group of 5 year olds!

Wrapping Paper Neighbor Gift Idea with Printable

I love neighbor gifts for the holidays! It is a great way to show your neighbors and friends that you are thinking about them during the holidays. The holiday season can get so crazy, sometimes you aren’t able to visit friends as much as you wish, so giving a little gift is a nice way to show them that you are still thinking about them! Neighbor gifts can be really hard because the price can really start adding up when you are buying for so many people and making treats for so many people can be extremely time consuming. I love giving gifts that people will be able to use, which is why I loved the idea of giving wrapping paper as a gift so that they could use it to wrap their Christmas gifts this season!

Non-Candy Halloween Idea and Printable

I’ve partnered with NESTLE® PURE LIFE® to create this post! Enjoy!

As you probably already know, my family has made some pretty big changes in the past year. We have wanted to be healthy for quite a while, but it wasn’t until the past year that we really took that goal seriously and made some major changes for our family. It has been a life changing experience and I am so grateful that we are doing it together! One thing that can be really difficult when you are trying to live a healthy lifestyle is celebrating holidays. One holiday that can be a major problem is Halloween. The entire holiday is centered around candy!

I love the idea of having a non-candy option to hand out on Halloween, or to take to class parties! There are many families trying to live more nutritious lives and many children who suffer from allergies that prevent them from enjoying Halloween candy. Handing out an item that isn’t candy can be a really great option. NESTLE® PURE LIFE® “Share-A-Scare™” Halloween Bottles are a perfect non-candy option! They are small enough that they can fit in little hands and they have adorable Halloween images on them!

Camping Hunt Preschool Activity and Backyard Campout Ideas

Backyard Campout Ideas for Familes

I will be the first to admit that I am not a huge camper. Since being married, we have camped annually at a family reunion and that has been about the extent of my camping adventures for the past eight years. Last summer, we wanted to try camping in our backyard before family reunion came around so that our four year old could get used to the idea of sleeping in a tent. Family reunion was her first real camping experience and we wanted to be totally prepared for it. I have heard of people taking their camp trailers to camping locations close to their home for the first time each season as kind of a trial run for the year. I loved that idea! It is a great way to make sure you have everything you will need when the time comes to actually go camping.

Backyard camping is the perfect solution for our family right now. We are still a pretty young family and are still getting the hang of things in the camping world. Since our first backyard campout, it has become a favorite of ours. There are a few things that can make backyard camping special. [Read more…]

Home Preschool Ideas and ABC Printable

When we moved in September, we had promised Harper that she could go to preschool when we lived at our new house. She was so excited! During one of Dave’s interviews, we went and toured two preschools that we were considering. Unfortunately, neither of them worked out because of price and distance from our house. Every other preschool was already full. We came way too late in the game and I was left with a devastated three year old who just wanted to go to preschool.

We already were doing a few little things at home to help her learn some of the things she would learn in preschool, but I knew that I needed to have more structure than that since she wouldn’t be getting traditional preschool right away. I had no plans of home schooling and I wouldn’t even call what we have been doing “home school”. We have just simply added “preschool activity” to her chore chart so that we are all held accountable for getting in some sort of preschool activity each day. I have seen her develop a lot overtime and I am so glad that I didn’t put off the learning until she could go to traditional preschool. She will be going to preschool this Fall and she will be very prepared to learn even more.

I just wanted to share a few home preschool ideas so that if you are in the same boat as me and just want to make sure your child is getting some education at home, you can use these ideas!

Young Women’s Values Superhero Printable

I am a member of the LDS church. All of the leadership positions are volunteer positions that we are called and asked to do. I have two callings. I teach the 4 year old children each Sunday and I am part of a group who is planning girls’ camp for all of the girls ages 12-17 in our area. We call it stake girls’ camp. I am specifically in charge of the older girls in the group who will be helping with several responsibilities at camp. They are called Youth Camp Leaders. We had a big kick off party for the YCL’s so they could get caught up on what our theme is for the year, what the responsibilities will be, and what to expect this year.

The event was a lot of fun! We got all of the YCL’s to come to the church, where we had pulled all of the couches and chairs from the lobby of the church and put them in the gym with several bean bag chairs so that it would feel like a cozy sleepover. The event went from 6 pm until 11:30 pm. We fed them homemade Chinese food, they played a group game to get them comfortable, and then we had them settle into their seats to introduce the theme. This year, our theme is a superhero theme. I am not in charge of the theme, so I can’t remember all of the details with the theme. There is a great scripture about the power of Christ that they are using to go along with the theme. The power of Christ is the super power that they are using the superhero theme with.

We wanted to tie in that theme with our kick off party, so we invited inspirational women to come and speak to the girls. We introduced these women as everyday superheroes. We told them we wanted them to go everyday like they have a pretend superhero mask on to be an everyday superhero and to also look for the examples of everyday superheroes all around them. We gave them necklaces with glasses on them to represent their superhero masks and I made a little printable to go along with it.
