I have been so excited about Zoey’s nursery design. I have been planning it for months and I finally was able to finish it so I can share it with all of you! When I found out I was having another little girl, I saw a color design chart with pink, blush, mustard, and charcoal gray. I INSTANTLY fell in love with the color combination and knew I wanted to use those colors in my baby’s nursery.
We have lived in this house for about a year and a half now. That isn’t incredibly long, but most of our decor has followed us from house to house. A lot of the decor in my house is getting a little boring for me and I need to give each room a little decor refresh. The first room that I decided to do that with was my bedroom. My room is typically the last room that gets decorated, but I wanted to give it a little more of a tranquil feel, while still keeping it fresh and fun! The Annie Selke Spring Catalog totally inspired me when I was planning out the decor for my bedroom.

We are in full blown nesting mode at our house, trying to get ready for baby number two. Part of our plan to make room for baby was to move the queen sized bed in the guest bedroom into Harper’s room so that the guest bedroom could become baby’s room. The guests will still get to sleep in the queen bed when they come to visit and Harper will sleep on the air mattress. It took a little convincing but she finally got excited about getting a big bed. Part of getting her excited was telling her that we could give her room a little makeover at the same time. We pretty much just decorated her room since we have only been in this house for a year, but there were a few other things we could do to make her feel like this was a special experience for her and she wasn’t just getting kicked out of her little bed. One of the things that we decided to do was refinish her dresser. I LOVE how it turned out!
I have become increasingly obsessed with all of the products featuring vintage cars and trucks carrying Christmas trees. It is such a classic holiday symbol and I love all of the decor that I have seen inspired by them. Last year, I picked up a cute cookie jar shaped like a truck with a Christmas tree on top and I bought another little ceramic truck this year. I knew I wanted a new Christmas pillow this year and putting this classic truck was going to be the perfect addition to the pillow! Making this Christmas truck pillow was incredibly easy, so follow along and you can make your own too!
To make your own, you need… [Read more…]
One thing I love to do as a mom is involve my Harper in holiday decorating. She loves to be included in the process and it is even better when we decorate with something that she has created herself! This year, we made this adorable handprint and footprint angel that can be displayed for years to come.
I have to give a lot of the credit for this idea to my mom. She has a similar piece of art that my brother made when he was about four years old. My mom made up the idea with finger paint, but I wanted this project to be quick and mess free so we made a few adjustments. I love the idea of creating a craft together that reminds us of the true meaning of Christmas. I love thinking about the angels who came to sing and rejoice. We talked a lot about the angels while we made this craft together and it became a great teaching moment while we created this little Christmas angel keepsake together! [Read more…]

Remember when I was a bit of a tease and shared the fun Home Depot DIH Workshop project that I was working on? The big day is finally here! It is time to finally share my final project with you! Here is my Joy porch sign ornament display, inspired by the Home Depot DIH Workshop project!
It is Throwback Thursday again! Now that Halloween has come and gone, are you the type to decorate for Thanksgiving or do you jump straight to Christmas? I like to give Thanksgiving its own glory before jumping into Christmas, mostly because I don’t like all of the clutter that comes with Christmas decor and having it up this early would drive me crazy. I like to decorate pretty minimally when it comes to Thanksgiving. It gives me a nice break between the Halloween and Christmas decor. I mostly just keep out the pumpkins that don’t look overly Halloween and then add a few more things to turn it into Fall decor.
One of my favorite pieces of Fall decor that I like to pull out each year is my faux leather Thanksgiving table runner that I made several years ago. It is still a favorite of mine after all of these years and it is today’s Throwback Thursday!
It’s Thursday! Time for another Throwback Thursday, blog post edition. Today features one of the easiest tutorials I have ever posted on my site. This leaf covered pumpkin fall decor is not only easy to create, but it is down right adorable too. I love that it can be used both as Halloween and Fall decor. I don’t have to pack it away once Halloween is over. I really want to find different varieties of leaves and pumpkins to add to my collection as well!
I am excited to start doing something new around these parts each Thursday! It is going to be Throwback Thursday! There are so many of my old posts that have been lost and forgotten because of bad photography or just that they are really old posts, so I decided to bring one back from the dead each Thursday so that many of you who are new can kind of catch up! Since we are right in the middle of Halloween and Fall decor season, I decided to start things off with one of my favorite Fall projects… Easy Rosette Pumpkin Pillow Tutorial!
