Avoiding Illness this Cold Season

Avoiding Illness this Cold Season

I’m sharing #Ricola  in my life as part of a sponsored series for Socialstars™

I had a really great Thanksgiving with my family. We spent the week at my parents’ house and my brother soon joined us with his family. It was so great to get to spend time with all of them, but as the week progressed we noticed a trend happening. We were all starting to sound the same. Our voices were starting to sound sick! Sharing the same house for the week meant that we were sharing the same germs too.

I tried to wash my hands constantly and get enough sleep, but I just couldn’t get on top of the illness. My body’s immune system is lower than it usually is because my body is working extra hard with my pregnancy. It didn’t take much to get me sick and once I started getting sick, it continued to get worse. By the time we got home from our Thanksgiving with family, I was feeling like I had about the worst cold I have ever had!

Thankfully I had a plenty of Ricola Dual Action Cough drops at home to help alleviate some of my symptoms. These drops are a multi-symptom cough drop that provides relief for coughs and sore throats. These drops helped my throat feel good enough that I could get some much needed sleep, without feeling like my throat was keeping me awake.

These Ricola Dual Action Drops come in Swiss Cherry and Honey Lemon flavors so I don’t get tired of the same flavor while I am sick. They really have been major lifesavers for me while my body continues to try to fight off this cold!

The interesting part about being sick this time is that my husband hasn’t gotten sick. Normally, he gets sick pretty easily but he has made some major health changes in the last six months and I honestly think those changes have kept him from getting sick. If you are wanting to avoid sickness this winter, I highly recommend striving to live a healthy lifestyle. Include exercise in your routine, eat healthy foods, get enough sleep, and wash your hands a lot. My husband isn’t doing anything crazy to keep the illness away, but I truly believe that these things are what is keeping him from getting sick. He felt his throat getting a little sore, so he had some of my Ricola Dual Action Cough Drops that were sitting on the table and he hasn’t felt sick or felt like he has had a sore throat ever since.

So as fun as it sounds to lounge around this holiday season and only eat junk food, it is important to keep a healthy mindset so that you can stay away from illnesses making their way from household to household right now!
