Disney Princess Quiet Book with Pattern: Quiet book activity ideas for girls and quiet book activities for boys too!

I have incredibly talented friends and I can’t wait for you to check out what they have to offer. Make sure you scroll back up to see them after checking out a tutorial that has been in the works for quite some time now… a Disney Princess Quiet Book!

This quiet book has been highly anticipated at our house and has already been a huge hit! The great thing about most of these busy book activities is that they can easily become pretty gender neutral. Most of them aren’t incredibly obvious that they are themed after a Disney princess, but they make any princess loving little girl a happy one! The part that will make you happy is knowing that there is very minimal sewing! I am SO not one to sew much, so I did the bare minimum. To make your own, you need…

-Yard and a quarter of felt in one color and two, one yard and a quarter pieces in a different color. One color will be for the cover and the other pieces for the pages.
-Several different colors of felt. I suggest purchasing a few multi color packs.
-Craft foam in white glitter, gold glitter, silver glitter, white, and black.
-Round Velcro stickers
-Hot glue
-Fabric glue
-Sewing machine
-Metal office brad
-Iron on vinyl in black
-Thin blue ribbon
-Patterns for all pieces. Can be found on THIS PDF.

First, cut out all of the pieces that are on the patterns. Each piece tells you what color it needs to be cut out on and how many to cut.

Fold the large pieces of felt in half and fold them in half again. Measure to see how large it is and cut it down to the size that you want your book to be. Mine is 14×14.5 inches.

Create each page individually on the “page” that you want it to be on. This is just going on 1/4 of your long pieces of felt that you are using for the pages. It is easiest if you keep the felt folded into the “pages” so you can make sure to stay within the area you want them to be.

Cut out all of the pieces from the pattern, then cut little holes out on the skirt piece.

Put a line of glue all the way around the skirt piece and place it on your book page. Lay the other pieces to the skirt on the book, gluing them down as you go.

Carefully lift up the shirt part of the dress and stuff the end of the ribbon in there. Estimate how much ribbon you will need to thread through all of the holes and cut the ribbon.

Hot glue the end of the ribbon so that it becomes hard and easier to lace through the felt.

Let it dry.

I thought about a way that you could turn this into an activity for boys and you could easily make a black piece of felt with the holes in it and have them lace yellow ribbon through it to “paint” the road for Lightning McQueen on Cars!

Rapunzel Hair Decorating Quiet Book Activity on www.girllovesglam.com

Rapunzel Hair Decorating Quiet Book Activity

Cut out the pieces for the hair and for the flowers.

Loop the hair pieces together to make them look like a braid and lay it on the book page. Glue it into place. Glue the bottom of the ponytail piece onto the ponytail as well. Let it dry.

Add Velcro to the backs of the flowers and stick the opposite Velcro pieces onto the hair.

Stick the flower pieces onto the Velcro to decorate Rapunzel’s hair!

Snow White Apple Matching Quiet Book Activity on www.girllovesglam.com

Snow White Apple Matching Quiet Book Activity

Cut out all of the pieces you need for this activity.

Glue the tree together on to the book page. Glue one half of each matching apple onto the tree. Let it dry.

Put a piece of Velcro on each apple piece on the tree and put the other part of the Velcro onto the back of the matching apple pieces.

Match Snow White’s bites of the apples with the other bites that look the same!

This is an activity that is totally gender neutral, so you wouldn’t have to try to change it at all for boys.

Mulan Tic-Tac-Toe Quiet Book Activity on www.girllovesglam.com

Mulan Tic-Tac-Toe Quiet Book Activity

Cut out all of the pieces that you need for this activity on the felt and foam that is noted on the pattern.

Glue the felt strips onto the book page to look like a tic-tac-toe grid. Let dry.

Hot glue the flowers and swords onto the black squares.

Put a piece of Velcro on each section of the tic-tac-toe grid. Put the other part of the Velcro onto the back of each game piece.

This could be a boy activity without changing it, but if you don’t want to do flowers, you could do dragons and have it just be a general ninja theme.

Merida Arrow Color Matching Quiet Book Activity on www.girllovesglam.com

Merida Arrow Color Match Quiet Book Activity

Cut out all of the pieces you need out of the felt.

Glue the target pieces together, then glue the targets onto the book page.

Glue the arrow pieces together. Let everything dry.

Place Velcro onto the center of each target. Put the other part of the Velcro onto the backside of each arrow.

Match the arrows with the colors of the targets!

This is a very gender neutral activity, so you wouldn’t need to adjust it at all for boys.

Elsa Ice Castle Building Quiet Book Activity on www.girllovesglam.com

Elsa Ice Castle Building Quiet Book Activity

Cut out all of the castle pieces out of the glitter white foam.

Stick pieces of Velcro onto the backs of each of the pieces.

Lay out the castle how you want it and peel off the back of the other side of the Velcro to stick it onto the book page.

Have fun building the castle in different ways!

This could be made a little more for boys by choosing a different color of foam. Maybe try a gray foam and have them build a castle for a knight!

Ariel Treasure Hunt Quiet Book Activity on www.girllovesglam.com

Ariel Treasure Hunt Quiet Book Activity

Cut out all of the pieces you need out of felt and foam as directed on the pattern.

Put glue around 3 of the sides of the bottom of the treasure chest and glue it onto the page.

Glue the rest of the pieces of the treasure chest together. Let it dry.

Put Velcro pieces onto the backs of each treasure item. Put the opposite side of the Velcro in different places all over the page. Stick the treasures to the Velcro.

You can now “hunt” for treasure to put in the treasure chest. You can even take this a step further and have children count the items, sort them by colors, etc.

This is also a pretty gender neutral activity. Just call it pirate treasure hunting!

Cogsworth Time Telling Quiet Book Activity on www.girllovesglam.com

Cogsworth Time Telling Quiet Book Activity

Cut out all of the pieces you need for this page out of the felt and the gold glitter foam as directed on the pattern.

Glue the felt pieces together on the book page to make up the Cogsworth face. Let it dry.

Stab a hole in the middle of the nose. Stuff the brad through the clock hands and stick it in the nose of Cogsworth.

Cut out numbers from iron on vinyl and iron on the numbers around Cogsworth’s face. Make sure to use a spare sheet of fabric or something to lay over the face while you iron on the numbers so you don’t melt the felt.

Give you child a time to turn the clock hands to. This is also a very gender neutral activity, so you wouldn’t need to do any adjustments for boys.

For the book cover, cut out words out of iron on vinyl for the title of your book and iron it onto where the front of your book will be.
