Streamer Flower Puffs & Ikea Lamp Knockoff

I got to host a House Party sponsored by Fisher Price. If you haven’t heard of House Party, you need to go over and check it out. I wasn’t asked or paid to write this post, this is all me. I love House Party! It is a website where companies find people who are willing to host parties to promote their products. It is AWESOME! I got four toys from Fisher Price for Harper and some friends to play with. Everyone was spoiled with gift bags and treats.
The kids had a lot of fun interacting with each other and playing with all of the new toys.
When I was planning out the decor, I wanted to do something a little different. I love the look of the tissue paper balls, but I didn’t have the patience or the tissue paper to make them. I love how my alternative turned out. They are loopy, quirky, and whimsical.
They took nearly no time at all to make. You need…
Streamer roll
Clear jewelry thread or fishing line

It is so easy to do! Unroll the streamer. As you unroll, the streamer, fold the streamer in half in your hand. Keep unrolling the streamer and folding in half in your hand. Do this until you have used up the entire streamer, or until your puff is as big as you want it to be. Wrap the string around the center several times and tie it in a knot. They are ready to hang! So easy, right?
Now for those puffs’ little friend…
This little beauty was inspired by the Ikea Knappa Pendant Lamp. I have always liked the Knappa lamp, but it hasn’t ever been enough of my style to make a permanent fixture in my house.
I thought that creating one for the party would be the perfect fit. Here’s what you need…
Cups
Spray Paint
Shipping Tape
Fishing Line
Hot Glue Gun
Razor blade
Scissors
Cut several cups in half and cut off the bottoms off of the cups.
Using the razor blade, cut an X on the bottom of a cup that hasn’t been cut in half.
Stick the fishing line through the X and tie a few knots in it. Tape the string down to the bottom of the cup to keep it from slipping.
Turn the cup with the string in it, upside down. Place it on top of another cup. Tape the tops of the cups together.
Glue the halves onto the “bottom” of the cup with the string.
Continue gluing the halves onto the cup. Glue them as far down as you want. I wanted mine to be small, so I went down about 1/4 of the way on the second cup.
Cut off the remainder of the cup. Spray paint your lamp whatever color you want it to be.
I love how they turned out! Don’t you?
