You’ve got a friend in me

A  lot of times, I find history repeating itself in my life. I rely on my friends and then don’t have much to do with them for quite some time. This even happened to me in elementary school sometimes. Sadly, some friendships never did heal themselves after we can grown apart. When I decided to go to beauty school, I was pretty nervous about having to be around girls all of the time. In high school, most of my friends were boys. That is how I liked it. They were less dramatic and I didn’t feel like I had to compete with them. I lucked out when I went to beauty school. I met the most incredible group of people. There were many more than are in this picture…

These guys instantly became some of the best friends that I would ever have. I am close with most of them, but I instantly was drawn to 4 other girls…

We were the self proclaimed “Fab 5”. There were times that we had little break ups that we would wing off to different friends for a time, but we always came back to each other. There is…

Whitney- My first impression of her was on the 2nd day of school, she walked right up to me and said, “I LOVE your eyes! I wish they were my eyes!”. I was flattered and a little bit taken back by her! She is such a bubbly spark of goodness. I adore her.

Lacie- We have been friends since high school. She was my roomie. We cried the first night our mommas left us together, and cried a lot after that. We became really close and even though we had our ugly times together, we made it through and I love her SO much.

Autumn- Lacie and I knew that Autumn would be coming to school with us. She is cousins with one of our best friends from high school. She was so shy to begin with at school, but after she came out of her shell, we got to see the best of her.

Shaylise- One of my absolute favorite parts about Shay is her vocabulary and sense of humor. She says, “Good gravy!” for crying out loud! She can quote every line from Anchorman with grace, and can make you laugh anytime.

Well times have changed a lot since then. We’ve all gotten married. Whitney, Autumn, and Shaylise have kids, and we live in different cities. I was able to meet up with 4 of them though and it was almost like nothing had changed. We still had our life drama, still had funny stories, and still loved being around each other.

I honestly don’t know how I would have made it this far without these girls. They have each influenced my life for the better. I can’t wait to continue this chapter in our lives and to join the “Mommy Club”. In the end, we all need those friends who help us when we are down, but aren’t afraid to tell us when we are being a diva. Who are  your besties?
